Are people so pathetic that they will hate on a fighter who dominates a fight with a single hand? Sure you didn't see a knockout, but what you did see was a shutout posted by the jab alone. There is no fighter you can name me right now who is a dominant with the jab as Klitschko.

Some boxing fans are mentally handicapped, they remember as far back as the last fight, so naturally I see those same boxing fans showing their handicap.

Wladimir Klitschko completely sucks because he pitched a shutout with scores such as 119-111, so that makes him horrible and never near ATG status :huh Im confused, some of the people here are complete dumbasses.

Win the fight today look good next time.

you can see it as impressive because he used just one punch, which shows how good that punch is, or you can see it as unimpressive because he used just one punch, which shows that he is lacking versatility.

wouldnt you have liked to see Wlad go for a knockout?

everyone including his own trainer Emanual Steward thought he shouldve and thats why his performance was more of a disappointment more then anything else to alot of people.

    :good

AFter his last several impressive KOs, he is now held to a higher standard than everyone else, and anything less than KO won't appease people.

    Very unfair, but true.

I don't see Wlad as lacking versatility at all... He simply imposes his will and hey, if the other fighter can't figure a way to counter it... He gets beat.

Wlad won 9 or 10 of the 12 rounds, but who cares, Wlad had his chance to take the weak WBO title holder out and didnt. He was to afraid of getting countered with Iggys left to take any chances, he fought scared most of the fight, and Iggy didnt have the tools to pressure him enough to possibly get him out of there or at least get him to have a panic attack and knock him down.

    :scaredas:

Is this the only fight of Wlads that you have seen to make such a ridicilious statement as to say that he lacks versatility? Wlad is without a doubt the most versatile fighter in the heavyweight division. I suggest you watch his fights with Brewster, Byrd, and Mercer, before saying something like that again.

And sure I would've enjoyed a knockout, but he did what he needed to do. And winning tonight but looking good next time is fine with me.

He didn't need the KO to impress. He looked passive and tentative to get hit. He didn't take shots that were there or even standard shots for his gameplan (straight right hit lefties all the time). The context of this fight is being left out by some of you so you are allowed to point out that he won.

If anyone was fighting scared, it was Iggy. Lets not forget who did ALL the stalking and who did all the back peddling.

The part about some boxing fans being mentally hadicapped is a good start.

Exactly, Wladimir was cautious and tentative but he was always on the offensive trying to set up his arsenal, and at one point in the 9th round he knocked Iggy down, but courtesy of the ropes Ibragimov mananged to not fall.

Both were fighting scared. And actually early on, Ibragimov was trying very hard to get inside. He was afraid of getting hit with the jab and the right hand, but Klitscho was afraid of getting countered.

This isn't an either or scenario. Both fighters fought tentatively. But this thread is about Klitscho. I expect Ibragimov to be a bit afraid of Wlad, but not vice versa.

Are any of you telling me that the right hand lead, counter, and left hook were not open all night for him? I understand you are saying he didn't NEED to throw it to win, but I doubt that is why he didn't throw it considering Steward was urging him TO throw it.

iggy was fighting scared? what fight were you watching? sultan was the one trying to set up combinations while coming forward, he tried jabbing to get inside but waldo kept pawing it down.

you wanna see a shut out? watch calzaghe vs lacy, that is what a real shut out is and it was also entertaining.

Because he had a guy 5 inches shorter than him, totally handicapped physically, totally outsmarted and outboxed and he was content to jab all night because he's scared. Sorry, that **** isn't impressing anyone in the context of Wlad securing his legacy as an ATG

This guy is supposed to be heavyweight champ, the role model and figure head for the sport. He's had 50 fights, he's talking the big talk. That was garbage. It's not about KO's or Wlad doing wonders, just a few combinations, it's not much to ask
