He was not always on the offensive. Whenever Iggy threw, he clinched or shelled up. He could have easily stepped back and countered (Sometimes he stepped back from Ibragimov's wild lefts but kept threw nothing in return). He also sidestepped Ibragimov a few times, but threw nothing.
Well Ibragimov was fighting scared after the 6th or so. He basically decided he couldn't get around the jab and was waiting for a wild left hook to land. Sometimes he just charged in, but Wlad would just grab him.
you must have a comprehension problem, because nowhere in that specific post did i say I thought that Wlad as a fighter lacks versatility. I said that using just the jab in a fight can give the impression that the fighter is lacking versatility. I've also said previously that you have to judge a fighter based on a multitude of fights rather than just one. Are you some kind of ******?
Exactly. I can't remember a more pathetic heavyweight title fight, it should have been billed as 'can't fight v won't fight'. All this fight proved is that the heavyweight division really is as **** as we all thought it was. Even old Jim Watt was criticising the **** out of Klitschko for being too negative, you don't hear that from Watt very often I assure you. Everyone knows I'm a WALDO hatter but he does himself no favours at all with performances like this against crap competition. The heavyweight division need the next Tyson or Ali to come along, and quickly before we all die of boredom.
He's a fan....we should give him a break. I see his perspective, but we all know Klitscho could have done more last night. The argument stems from WHY he didn't do more. I saw the fight, I saw his reactions to Ibragimov anytime he thought he was going to throw a punch. Most fighters look to block then counter, or move then counter. This was not the case last night.
Anybody would think Wlad was fighting the white Joe Louis last night His reaction when Ibragimov so much as dared step near him was comical
Where do I start, he threw no combinations, barely any head movement, limmited footwork, everything was one punch, that missed by the way. Even a slow plodding fighter like Sam Peter was able to land on Wlad, yet a supposed fast handed, slick boxer cant? I'm surprised you would even ask that question after last nights display of talent by him, or lack there of.
Read the WALD V Prime Tyson thread, some of the WALD huggers actually think he could deal with that kind of pressure. Now judging from what you saw last night, what do you think would happen if Tyson was winging his way in? KO1 is my bet.
while it is impressive that Wlad can get through 12 rounds with a heavyweight titlist without being hit, it was certainly a boring fight.
