Fights like that give haters like us something to cheer about I guess, even though I was hoping for more of an exciting match up, that just didnt seem to happen with these two, I think both are to blame for lack of action.

I don't get it, this fight was boring. Plain and simple. The crowd, which was pro Wlad, was booing after almost every round. Wlad was booed during his post fight interview. Wlad was apologising for the dull fight. The commentators where were seemingly dumbfounded as to why Wlad was doing nothing but throwing single jabs all night. Manny was clearly frustrated with Wlad's performance. Seemingly everyone realizes that Wlad was too cautious in this fight. Everyone except a few hardcore Wlad fans.

Criticism doesn't equal "hater". Even his trainer criticised him, and I doubt he is a hater.

There is nothing being said that isn't true. He was tentative and passive. You are simply upset that he isn't being praised for the win and that the criticism of some implies he cannot fight. He deserves credit for the win, just not the way he accomplished it. As for Ibragimov, if he didn't make a good go of it either after round 6...

I have no problem with a guy hitting and not getting hit, but just admit that it's boring. I'm a big Hopkins and Mayweather fan. However, I'm not going to argue with anyone who says the Hopkins/Wright or the Floyd/Baldo were boring.

I think both are to blame too, I wasn't putting all the blame on WALD - but Sultan isn't the one that gets compared to Ali, Holmes, Foreman and Lewis on here on a daily basis.

I say again, that was the dullest heavyweight title fight in living memory, if someone can remember a worse one then feel free to bring it to my attention.

I'm still scratching my head wondering why a 240lb, 6 foot 6 guy is scared to throw right hands at Ibragimov :huh Ah yes, it was the chin, or lack of :yep

Iggy was afraid to engage. Wlad just jabbed his eyes nearly shut. He still nearly ko'd iggy, with barely breaking a sweat. a boring fight, yes, but a dominating one as iggy could not impose any will upon Wlad. I mean, lets face it, Iggy fought the way he could. He certainly couldn't overpower him. It may have been boring but not as boring as many ALi fights I saw. In fact, if that were ALi then everyone would be licking his balls saying what a great performance it was, "he beat a guy with one-handed!" "did ja see that". There was simply no comparison in talent and Iggy was completely dominated. He avoided a KO by running.

Wlad 'haters' don't worry though, he will knock the snot outta your boy peters again -or maybe his big brother will...:rofl :rofl

Exactly, the fear of being countered by Iggy was his biggest concern in that fight. He had a ton of wide open oppertunities to really put Iggy away, but he failed to pull the trigger, which even had Manny baffled after awhile.

Ruiz vs Johnson was on this level IMO. But I am not sure either was capable of more.

    Great post.

No matter what he does, no matter how he wins, the haters are always negative about him.:-(

I remember they were saying the Austin fight was no good because it was over too fast. :?

Apart from the Holmes and Berbick fights, go and find me an Ali fight where he threw 20 punches a round and never threw any right hands please?

Also, I can't remember Ali fighting an opponent as awful as Ibragimov and looking bad. WALD looked bad last night, get over it.
