I wouldn't mind seeing a Fury fight also. But hasn't Fury's side said they would only take on Vitali at this point in Fury's career. Bluntly explaining their ***** decision making on the fact they believe Vitali is old and slowed down. That they would like an extra yr if they were to face Wladimir. Probably praying he ages over night likewise.

That being said, Povetkin fight is not a bad one, and after he lost, you wouldn't have to hear about him for awhile. Pulev will earn his title shot the right way, by blowing out 3 straight ranked opponents. Price and Wilder not ready. Arreola has become content with winning a vacant title from the retired man,who smashed him. Boystov has been injured so often and seen by no one outside Russia, why risk a training camp on an uncertainty. Solis and Helenius have done nothing to impress since their comebacks. So then we're left with, well the leftovers of previous Klitschko victims.

 

Povetkin-Wlad has to happen..

so what you said is certainly true, the WBA has set the bar so low, that there is no way they wouldnt offer their approval in any logical world

 

Fury is making his debut in America in march, so it defenetly wont be fury for Wlads next opponent

 

as young as he is he could lose and still fight for a title 4 more times by the time he is 30. look at sam peter and he is no better. these days you can get a shot much easier the 2nd time by losing the first time it seems.

 

I ****ing bet that Wlad is waiting to see if Mitchell regains his WBO ranking.

Last fall, Wlad was all about fighting Mitchell in 2013. I know he was devastated when Banks KHTFO. Wlad himself said something to the effect that his KO losses made him a better fighter, and that Mitchell would be back.

That'd be f/d up if Wlad is waiting for that fight before announcing his next opponent. :nono

 

that would be a mismatch from hell. dont think he would actually want that fight, mitchell is damaged goods, recently damaged too.

 

Well, after the Banks fight he was all about talking Mitchell up like it were a fluke or some****.

If Wlad signs to fight Mitchell next, I'll be seriously disappointed.:-(

-Not a great match but an acceptable challenge: Helenius, Solis
-Unacceptable: Pretty much everyone else. No way Boystov deserves the shot.

Officially, I suppose Cunningham and Adamek have also earned a shot but nobody wants to see Wlad destroy another cruiserweight.

Haye II is out and Pulev is also out for now. So it needs to be one of Povetkin, Fury, Helenius, or Solis. Please not another meaningless joke defense.

told everyone Banks was smart. it would hurt his stock by saying Mitchell was a hype job. not that he is, just saying. But seth could have won that fight, he was doing good until he thought he could go in for the kill vs Banks.
I remember Muhammad Ali giving credit to guys like Evangelista. I also remember Angelo Dundee saying Henry Cooper had a better left hook than Frazier :rofl. I also remember Frazier saying Buster mathis was faster than Ali (before they fought) which was also laughable. Its all a word game to hype what you have done or havent done. but at the end of the day you are right, i would be disappointed in Mitchell vs Wlad, the guy has no chance

If I had to predict the opponent I'd have to say Boystov or Cunningham. Both are supposedly looking for a big fight and would fight for a smaller purse.

But I don't want to see either fight because those guys are way too small and would be destined to be KTFO much the same way Chambers and Mormeck were KTFO.

If it's not those 2, then my next predictions would be Mitchell or Chisora....who have no business being in the same ring as Wlad. But the style match-up would make for good tv.

Granted, Solis is reportedly expensive and unreliable--but that fight would at least offer some intrigue. He should get at least the same offer Boystov gets.

Maybe Helenius is ready for his pay-day? It's a marketable fight. RH may as well take his shot... though I give him little to no chance cause he's just as slow as Wach. On the other hand, RH's cheen and power are good intangibles vrs Wlad.

There's no one else available unless Fury or Arreola are ready to step up.

 

It could be Denis Boytsov. Universum is bankrupt and might be willing to cash him out. Boytsov is ranked by the WBA, IBF and the WBO.

Kubrat Pulev is the best qualified and would make for the most competitive matchup. If Adamek can't fight him because of the DUI charges, then he might be available.

Robert Helenius isn't very good, except for his one-punch KO power. I think Sauerland must realize his limitations by now, so they might be willing to cash him out in a title fight against Wladimir.

Tyson Fury would be a good choice for fan interest, but he's still improving so I think he'll want another year or so to develop.

 

I"d rather see Povetkin than Fury get the fight with Wlad.

Fury will be thrashed faster than Povetkin would be.
