Wlad-Povetkin: HBO, Showtime Both Interested

Remember Bonte said they will only sign the contract if Povetkin's camp pays the purse into an escrow account. K2 signed. So we can assume the money is deposited.

And Wlad won't see a cent if he bails out. The $17 million are sitting there in an account somewhere and Wlad just has to walk into the ring on Oct. 5 to cash in. I don't see him find a way out, he'd be crazy to let this payday slip away.

 

Yeah but this week he said his name means more to him than money. Wlad not going to be a young gun forever and Povektin has the style to crack thru his defence.
But im hoping it does happen.

i hope povetkin can trouble wlad at one point - like wach did in the 5th round. that was the first time in a long time wlad's been caught, i want to see if he can still stand up to it

 

plus hes hated that much that it has now given povetkin the tools to take him into trench and crack him...

i mean since when was literally no head movement and poor defence coupled with poor punch resistance and low to medium work rate all tools to take a man who wont be able to miss his double jab straight right into the trenches...****ing beyond me

He showed impressive head movement here dealing with the straight right. from the 12.30 mark.

 

The fact is americans are not that interested about this fight...

Name Povetkin says absolutely nothing for casual fan only for hardcore boxing fan. And lets be honest about this, the great boxer Wlad is, his style does not attract most of the fight fans.

So what I am saying I would not be sruprised if neither of HBO Showtime picks this up. It is about business and making money and this is hard to sell for big audience...

Still, this Varcheck fella was specifically chosen for Povetkin to use his style he's been working on for the Wlad fight. It was a very impressive showing despite the limited foe.

 

sorry but comparing this guy to wlad is like comparing herbie hide to tyson..

boxing is about levels...povetkin when he fights op below his level looks good (as he should) when he fights a higher level he does not look hot at all and you know it..now lets look at this realisticly..povetkin is not physically strong enough to cope with wlad in clinchs..he has not got the movement to slip wlads shots all the time and that coupled with his lack of punch resistance and how much he tends to swell up round the eyes when hit means by round 4-5 the fight will take a dramatic down turn for him..he isnt busy enough and his defence is brutal..itll all come down to how gd of condition he comes into the ring in and how much punishment hes willing to take..

sasha will have some moments but once wlad establishes himself and lets him feel the power i expect an iggy but sasha dosnt have the defensive tools to pull that off

 

What gave you that idea? Povetkin was on HBO early in his career. They said they wanted to show the fight even before the purse bid. This is a big fight in the Heavyweight Division and it will be on an American Network.

 

When wlad beats povetkin what will dino and derrik say next???? Having said that this division is dead anyway no one from hbo or showtime cares. All heavyweights are bums right now including wlad.

 

What is the WBA gonna do?

Is Wlad gonna have two WBA belts. The Super Championship and regular Championship.
