Pretty much. Except when you get tested the timing and amounts of compuunds have to be carefully monitored. It is not like back in the 90's when far more PED's were used for longer intervals.

 

When a French newspaper published a story about some of Lance Armstrong's old samples being tested for EPO and coming up positive, he claimed they'd been tampered with. The scientist in charge of the lab explained how its practically impossible to tamper one isolated sample and have it behave in the same way a true positive test would.

What this situation says is that Wlad doesn't care about the money, he cares about his legacy. The purse is not worth risking getting screwed by corrupt Russian officials.

If Wlad wins, the after-fight tests could somehow come back positive, Wlad is disgraced, and finally Povetkin becomes what Wlad has been for the last several years while Wlad is suspended. All of a sudden that huge purse bid looks like a good investment in crowning a Russian champ who will produce many more big-money fights in Moscow while the only potential threat still around is old man Vitali.

That scenario may or may not be likely, but I can hardly blame Wlad for not wanting to risk it. I hope the fight somehow works out anyway.

The reason Wlad will duck Povetkin because K2 is not in control and they know Povetkin is going to use Nady or Cotton as the ref. Wlad knows damn well Nady or cotton will not put up with his holding.
