I hear you brotha. Haye fan's are crazy, but that again you'll never hear a crazy person admit that there nuts .
This isn't necessarily shocking. The UK didn't like Lennox Lewis for a long time as well, in fact I'm watching a Lennox Lewis comp and they're booing him for saying he wanted to fight Frank Bruno. Ricky Hatton was kind of the heat sapper in the UK. Hell they don't even like Amir Khan and he's one of their own! Tough crowd.
I kinda figured the numbers in the states weren't going to be good for the Wlad/Chagaev fight, just not that bad. Neither Klit is popular in America, I guess they just dont bring much of a personality or exciting fighting style America looks for in it's champs.
Not really. He pissed Haye off. You already admitted as much. So it's not like I'm making **** up here.
The fight was canceled less than 3 weeks before the fight, they had negotiate to find suitors to televise the fight, and by the time ESPN agreed to telvise the fight- you think that would of given ESPN enough time to market the fight:nut-and even than close to 40% of American's don't have basic cable, and espn classic is considered premium sport channell-you either have to get with a premium package or pay extra subcsription fee. Would it brake rating records-Fudge No-but you out to look at the facts before you spit out your hate.
I hate to say this...they dont need the US. 25-35 million viewers in germany, 100 million in russia...fights shown in over 100 countries....48,000 tickets to this last fight sold in 2 days...most fights sell out within DAYS.... the world is a big place and they seem to be doing just fine...BTW..when they do fight in the states, they sellout EVERY time
exactly...boxing is a fringe sport here anyways. No active boxer is a household name. Boxing is exploding all over the world. You charge people $50 to watch a fight, demand is gonna go down. Put it on free television and it goes up :nut
