I dont think either one of us knows that for sure. What do know is, Haye has a more enertaining fighting style and personality than Wlad. Wlad doesn't know how or wont hype a fight, hence the bad returns he got back from the Chagaev fight, and the fact HBO took Hayes side over him and Showtime is not in the least bit interested in picking up Wlad to fight on their network.
Showtime is interested and HBO put pressure because golden boy put pressure on HBO on future fights to try and get Wlad to wait for Haye.
Oh no doubt, but I'm looking at who he might fight other than the Bro's Chagaev- Nope he is done for a while Povetkin- No way will he risk his unbeaten status and a shot at the Bro's Valuev- No he doesn't fight anyone Chambers- Maybe but he won't get any credit for this fight, just like the Barrett fight Arreola - I don't think this guy will risk his shot at the Bro's either Dimitrenko- Again not going to risk his unbeaten status Boystov - Nope too early his managment won't risk it either The division is full of protected fighters
When did HBO takes sides with Haye? Where do you get your facts, seriously?? HBO was just content of having Wlad fight Aerreola instead of Haye. This was not about taking sides, but that HBO has been on a financial strap like everyone else, and are looking to save up money and want only big fights.
So your saying Wlad/Chagaev is not a big fight? Undefeated champ vs long time, 2 belt holding champ in Wlad, sounds like a big fight to me. Because when HBO decided not to take the fight, it was still unclear as to if Chagaev would still hold claim to the WBA belt or not.
It wasn't on there mind obviously. HBO has been putting down the Hammer. Look what happend to Pavlik after he lost to Hopkins-he hasn't fought since HBO (If I am not mistaken I think he was dropped ask Hermit-he should know). So did Cotto when he lost to Margarito, only to return against Clottely. Williams is likely going to fight Dzindurik for the Junior Middleweight title, which should be helluva fight, but HBO supposedly has 0 interest to put the fight on, unless Williams fights Clottey or Mosley. And I could go on. Point being is that its not about favoritism or neoptism as you claim.
I agree. I think Starz is better (Cinemax also for the porn :yep) , and there coming up with there own shows and programs-now that would be interesting if they got into sports-which I think they will eventually.
David Haye vs. Waldo is the only fight the people want to see... Why couldn't Waldo have waited for Haye to recover? That's not a champion's heart IMO... Too bad because now Haye will knock out Vitali within 6 rounds. You can quote me on that.
Hear what your saying, I just know showtime still showed Peter/McCline, instead of Peter/Maskaev on short notice. ****, and Wlad/Chagaev there were titles on the line and 2 better oppenents. I guess I dont blame HBO, they knew it wasn't worth the money and they were right.
