According to today's article about Wladimir Klitscko in NY Daily News (page 82) he has once again donated cash, this time $10,000 to a program to "launch a youth program 'with a boxing focus' in the city." Obviously, Wlad is trying to get the attention of Americans, but how come American boxer don't realize the fall of boxing and try to to lift it. The Klitschko brothers have created many boxing programs for the youth in Ukraine, I think the same intent is necessary from American boxers.
I see he is also having people sign his Hugo Boss red robe that he wears, and will wear to the Ibragimov unification fight. They are taking donations of $199 per person for each person to sign it..... then they will sell the robe.............and the proceeds will go to charity. The details are on their site. The sport could use more guys like Vitali and Wladimir. Not only world class fighters, but they are both great guys who have alot of compassion for those who are less fortunate. They are involved in all kinds of charities, some on a grand scale, and have been for years, now.
In order for boxing to regain national prominence then American fighters could take a few notes from Wlad. We wonder why people don't care anymore when people like PBF are the face of american boxing, its disgusting. I admire Wlad and think he is a great overall person, the guy always has a smile on his face and is a total class act.
In Neocon America it has become too much about "ME" and only me, Bush, Inc. doctrine. Vitali and Vlad has been giving to poor children all over the world for years. Vlad donated a huge amount of money to Nigerian children sometime back and what he did for the children of Brazil in incredible.
one of the reasons i find it easy to be a wlad fan. :thumbsup the only down side it hurts more when a nice guy loses in the ring.
The guy has brain . . . if not for the country who hates him . . . where would he be now in terms of world recognition? He'll end up like Joe Calzaghe and the rest of the European fighters who's accomplishments and capabilities are always in question.:yep
Americans dont hate him, those who know boxing, everyone I talk to they all like Wlad...they hate the division maybe, but only ingnorant ppl blame him for it. But I think Wlad is not doing to stop the ate, thats not his issue with Americans, he wants ppl to know him---in general, hate or love, most Americans have no idea who the hell the Klitschko brothers are.
