Vlad had to fight Austin, it was mandatory, Don King's fighter. He fought Peter when he did not have to. Brock, undefeated at the time. Beat Byrd two times, easily. Etc. Vlad is trying to unify the titles in spite of the ABC's greed and Don King.

I was criticizing Wlad for taking easy opponents few years ago... but now the problem is that no matter what you think about his opponents, they are still the best you can find. OK, maybe not Austin or Brewster, but Ibragimov is a titleholder with decent record and some good (if only on paper) wins.

Tyson in his prime would take them both out just as easily as he did with Douglas....... um wait a minute, um nevermind.

sultan couldn't carry frank bruno's jock strap.

i'm not blaming wlad as he has no larry holmes or (under 35 yoa) holyfield to take on - but still not going to be impressed by beating a guy who couldn't do to holyfield what james toney did.

so long as tyson does not tear his knee up or quit on his stool, ibrag loses to tyson anytime prior to the date upon which tyson fought danny williams.

ibrag's a solid fighter and would give 35 year old plus tyson a test, but tyson's still got every advantage save determination and stamina . ibrag could maybe survive through late rounds so depending upon mike's mood he may quit on his stool, but if not tyson UD or early ko.

this is the state of the hw's---solid (but nothing special) hw's like ibrag hold titles because a bum like shannon briggs held it pior to and because ibrag was able to get a title shot basically by drawing with ray austin (???). if holy's reflexes were 5 years younger maybe ibrag wouldn't be fighting wlad but they aren't and thus wlad has a shot to unify. it aint' wlad's fault. who are the better challenges wlad should fight???

    Reasonable post.
Still I think Tyson is overrated by many fans. Douglas is certainly nothing special either going by your standards - and despite this magical short prime that Mike had, he beat Tyson near/at his prime. HWs like Ibrag hold titles also b/c boxing has been fractured over the past generation - for business purposes to fill cable & ppv with many contender & title fights. I don't know why people make this so complicated. I also have a higher regard for the current HWs. The 90s/2000s HWs would - in most cases - demolish the earlier era HWs.

All you can do is beat the high-rated guys out there. Wlad is doing that tonight. Sounds cool to me.

:rofl  Exactly, Tyson wasn't superhuman. Holyfield beat him twice, Lewis beat him once & he was KO'd by Douglas TKO'd by Williams & TKO'd by McBride. ****in' McBride!!!

All of which were out of his prime, and dont even say when he fought Douglas he was in his prime, he didnt have Rooney, and he was too busy ****ing the **** out of japaniese bitches to worry about fighting a game Douglas, me and you both know a prime Tyson would of put him to sleep in the 1st or second round like Holyfield did half a year later.

Thats not compare bad losses, Wlad lost to a club fighter with almost as many wins as losses, when Purrity laid him out.

It can be argued that Tyson or Lewis could beat Wladimir but Douglas? ****in' hater................:rofl Kiss off!

The fact is that Lewis vs. Klitschko is a 50/50 fight, Klitschko KO's Tyson late & Douglas early.

That is why they do this, in order to take credit away from him if he wins. They try to make it a lose-lose situation. If he wins, he beat a bum, if he loses, then he lost. Yet someone Ibragimov will become "the man" afterwards.

You must be a great fighter when you have haters so bad that they bash on you for fighting undefeated Champions, and unifying titles.:yep
