Wouldn't it be hysterical if AJ was outboxing and beating up Wlad during most of the fight, and then Wlad wins in an unsatisfying but technically valid manner that leaves a ton of questions about who the better fighter is? Then Wlad retires without a rematch? It would be awesome to watch both the pro and anti K fanbases try distinguish Vitali Lennox from Wlad AJ.
I just hope Wlad throws a punch in this fight and doesn't become a 6'7" Zengief trying to bear hug all night like him and Joshua are about to ****.
I will not be surprised if Vlad knocks Joshua out, but this is a heavyweight fight, so one punch can end it. Fans must remember that Vlad can punch just as hard or harder than Joshua, plus Vlad has the stamina, foot speed, balance, combinations, experience, defense advantage................Joshua had a rematch clause for a reason...............he knows he could lose the fight.................
It would be hilarious in a historic sense, and the Brits would probably go bonkers over that. But it's a very outside chance of that happening of course.
I'm a Brit and would be delighted with that outcome. Don't put all the sheep in the same pen, lol. I have nothing personally against Joshua and rate him highly, but I hate the way he's marketed as a 'product' for casual consumption and it's for that reason I am routing for a Wlad win - and to see Hearn's face after his boy is hauled up from the canvas eyes pointing in opposite directions.
Well, it's not even comparable. You don't have to be in any "pro-" or "anti-" camp to distinguish major differences. *Wladimir is the underdog and the challenger in this fight. The fight was signed and scheduled months ago. I think a majority of people probably expect him to lose, by KO. *Lennox Lewis was champion of the world and an overwhelming favourite to defeat Vitali in a fight put together at late-notice. Most people certainly thought Lewis would win, by crushing KO. The entire dynamics and expectations for this fight are different to Lewis-Vitali.
IF wlad KO's joshua he gets alot more credit, than if joshua ko's wlad. joshua should do the business.
I'm another Brit who feels this way too. Also, there's no reason to believe a loss would damage AJ's career in the long run IF he's as good as people say he is. He'll come again, and the hype would be reduced to more palatable levels. For Wlad, this is the last chance saloon so I'm being sentimental and rooting for the old man here.
I think it would be the other way around. Just look at how few jabs fury landed and Compare that with Wlads post fight face... Bad eyebone and facial skin on wlad to absorb shots to the face. I think he will bleed coming mid rounds.
He has to let his hands go, plain and simple. I was so shocked to see how trigger-shy he was in his fight with Fury. It's ok to lose, but at least throw some punches at your opponent and try to land a lucky punch or something. I want to give him the benefit of the doubt that his last fight was just a bad night in the office. His wife was suffering from post-partum depression during his training camp and I'd imagine that must've caused a severe distraction. He had a stretch of almost 10 years dominating the HW division and literally beating every contender in the weight class. If the Fury fight was an anomaly, than Joshua might be in some real trouble.
Technically I agree. Wlad should either outbox AJ or get stopped. It would just be cool if it did happen.
I don't think you get the point. The differences of expectations and positioning are irrelevant, the significant feature about the fight was it's conduct, which would be the same indeed this scenario. Specifically one fighter dominates most of the fight. The other fighter wins in a technically valid but unsatisfying way that is traditionally hard to duplicate, thus leaving significant controversy as to who the actual better fighter is.
