Wlad to fight in Rio 2016 olympics?

    It'll be like a Prizefighter for him. KO'ing some green prospects without really trying

    I wonder if he'll be allowed to take all of his belts to the ring with him?

    Wlad will be 40 by than and will be knocked out by Joshua and Joe Joyce in the Pros much less the ameaturs.. I see how eastern euros are hyping Ulysk.. it's funny............. how they love eastern europe but refuse to live there.....I won't be shocked if Wlad did enter the Olympics... Vitali took steroids to attempt and kill kids in 96 in atlanta.. how is he not banned for that? It's good the police caught him and kicked him out .. I hate cheaters like that.. It won't shock me if Wlad want to go hurt kids .. why the hell is a pro like Wlad going to go beat up kids? How will wlad like it if Lewis came in during 96 and kick his ass??? I bet he won't like it very much..It's funny because Wlad said that he idolize lennox but he didn't avenge all his defeats like Lewis did.. if you don't try to be like your idol what are you? Emmanuel Steward (RIP) saved wlad's life and should take all the credit for wlad and his career. I wonder who wlad is going to fight next? Maybe a aids victim. I wonder if Tommy Morrison is still alive...............

    Not needed. Id like to see Am boxing adapted so the fights look more like thhe professional code...that is just from a pure spectator pov though.

    I dont want pros fighting at the olympics :bart

    I don't think you realise the level the top amateurs are at. Usyk the 6'3 who won gold at London in the Heavyweight class (91kg) just stopped 6'7 270 pound 13-0 professional Modungo in the second round of a WSB contest, in a complete mismatch. And Usyk isn't even a power puncher.

    Well from June this year there is no more headgear and rounds will be scored on the 10 point system used in the pros. The only difference from the pros is the size of the gloves.

    Don't forget Usyk will probably fight in the HW division again, while Wlad would be in the Super HW division.
    Usyk is good indeed.

    I don't think so, he was always a bit tight for the 91kg class and he's shown he can hang with the bigger guys. Smaller fighters like Russo and Beterbiev give him more trouble, against the big guys Usyk's speed and skills are too much. He weighs about 210 for his WSB fights and he's 6'3 so while he's not a huge super heavy he has the ability to compensate against the bigger guys, and I'm sure you saw him dominate highly rated super heavy Medzhidov in the WSB.
    Look at him vs Beterbiev in the olympics (I think Beterbiev could've been given that decision) and then compare him to the Medzhidov fight. I think he's definitely found his place against the bigger guys.

    The more am boxing becomes like pro boxing, the better.

    Headgear for non olympics could get smaller too, in the end it only protects against cuts, and small headgear can protect against cuts just as well.
    (straight punches also lose a tiny bit of their power with headgear, though hooks are totally non affected.)

    You do realize Usyk is not a pro yet. I hope he turns pro but he decided to stick with AIBA.

    What are you talking about? I can't stand the Klits. And Usyk can fight inside and at mid range, Ali was almost purely an outside fighter so of course he's going to have more problems with the bigger guys.
