On the front page of this site it clearly has Wladimir klitschko stating that he is still hungry and better than ever. It also mentions who will be the heir apparent to Wladimir's reign as champ, and it lists the winner's of Stiverne/Arreola, Fury/Chisora, and Jennings/Perez as the troop of Wlad's next challengers. While Wlad will, and never had, have the opportunity to face a current ATG or even hall of famer, if he cleans out the winners of all these matches after dispatching of Leapai and then the capable Pulev. There's really no reason to not have him in the mention of a ATG. I like Stiverne, Chisora, and Jennings to be at the top of the heap after all these match-ups have settled, and you can bet your as.s Wlad WILL fight all of these contenders as he's never ducked anyone. Now, nobody on here, who's objective, can tell me that if Wlad beats Pulev, Stiverne, Chisora, and Jennings with maybe windmiller deontay for good measure that coupled with what Wlad's already accomplished in his career that he wouldn't be ATG worthy. If you Love or Hate Klitschko, one thing is for sure, he's staying put and will face everyone of these challengers from this era. P.S. I'm sure this comes as bad news to all of these heavy's as they were counting on Wlad to follow his bro into retirement soon, and they all know they'd lose to Wlad anyway.
He will always face criticism due to the lack of big names in the division. Its just the way it is. I think he would be a tough matchup for a lot of the more famous hws but its all speculation.
So? he has to make due with what he's got. He's dominating and the current crop of upcoming heavy's I mentioned in the thread aren't garbage. How do you think Stiverne, Chisora(in shape) and Jennings would fare against Trevor berbick, James smith, and Pinklon thomas? Because those were prime Tyson's best wins( please don't include a 100 year old Larry holmes in there) and Tyson is considered by many to be an ATG. Wlad is already an ATG and if he dominates for another 4-5 yrs and cleans out this era of heavy's then he'll be a top 5-10 ATG.
I was always a fan of Klitschko but the heavyweight divisioun is an absolute joke. It's not Klitschko's fault at all but it's miserable. Tyson Fury is an out of shape turd and so have others in the heavyweight division, like Cory Sanders and that 7 foot behemoth, Valuev or whatvaver his name was. Chisora is a joke too... The guy that had talent was David Haye but he was a loudmouth and a bit small to challenge Klitscko. The fact that two brothers have dominates the division is an absolute joke, for real. What are the chances of two brothers dominating middleweight, welterweight, light heavyweight divisions? It would've been great if Lennox would've been in his prime now, i think he would've beaten Klitschko but it would've been a tough fight. I will say this though, I would pick Klitschko and Lewis over any other heavyweight in history, including Ali. Not because they are greater, but because they are so big that they warrant a class of it's own, like 'super heavyweight'. Klitchko would beat Ali easily, too big for him. Foreman was considered big back then and Wlad outweighs him by like 40 pounds; he's just too big and skilled for his size. Obvioulsy Ali was MUCH GREATER... it just feels like comparing a welterweight with a cruiserweight.
You're just butthurt that Wlad's staying put. Ruling the glamor division so yo peeps can't ever win the heavyweight championship. How does it feel to know that neither Deontay wilder nor Bryant Jennings will have a chance to win heavyweight gold now? Hooow doooooes it feeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaalll?
Not quite bro, more like 20. foreman was 225 and wlad regularly weighs in at approx 245 average. your post in correct. I'm not stating that Wlad is in the leagues on a p4p level as Ali, Louis, Holmes, and Frazier but I am saying that he belongs in the mention as one of the great heavy's in a different era. Hell, compare Ali's era to Joe louis' era. Were the heavy's in ali's era bigger and stronger than louis'? Hell yeah. so what's everyone on about?
I think that it's a misunderstanding or something. He'll almost certainly retire withing the next 2 years.
He's at an elite level of longevity now. It's a short list of heavyweights who last long enough to have fought well in multiple eras, let alone be a top rated fighter or champion. Since 2000, Wlad's been ranked 13 of the 14 possible years using the year-end ratings. Only Patterson, Holyfield, Ali, and Louis have achieved being ranked top 10 for 15 years or more.
yeah, i was thinking Foreman was more like 215 but he was 225... still, foreman was considered a beast back then and he would look small vs Klitscko. Wlad is just a 'super' heavyweight. He is ranked #3 pound for pound by ring magazine which i'm not sure i agree with but he's a huge man with skillzzz.
Uhh you act like Im criticizing him when Im doing the exact opposite. He and his brother have dominated.. but are unlikely to get the respect due to the perception of the hw division. Reading comprehension is your friend.
