If Wlad does unify then the only belt that will be available to fight for will be the WBA Regular strap and we effectively are back to square one.

I think that Stiverne and Pulev (who he should fight after a voluntary) could run him close but ultimately he beats both late on or on points.

It shouldn't surprise anyone that a long reigning world champion who has been a pro boxer long before Joshua even laced up a pair of gloves would infact beat Joshua.

 

Whether you rate the division or not Wlad deserves huge credit for being on top for so long.

Many people thought Haye would beat him, the reality was Wlad won that fight with ease.

Good, I want Wlad to go out after someone has destroyed him.

I don't want him to go out on top and listen to years of "Wlad could come out of and beat <insert claimant to heavyweight title>" and "He's only champ because Wlad retired".

 

I can understand why he wants to continue. Finally he is going to get a chance to become the first 'Generally Recognized' Heavyweight World Champion for a decade, and a chance to build a legacy that rises above alphabet crap.

But Wlad may need to call it a day if tensions continue to rise in Ukraine, unless he wants to go the same way as Litvinenko...

He will become an icon of the Country, with a worldwide presence as holder of the biggest title in Sports, and thus some Russians might consider him a legitimate target. Particularly if big Brother's political ambitions bear fruit in the upcoming elections.
