Yes Wlad would easily handle Tyson (but i think tyson with some prepearation would still have the proverbial punchers chance), but it wouldn't be like McBride. McBride is clearly not close to Wlad's overall level, however McBride was willing to take some good shots (not nearly mike's best but hard shots nonetheless) and basically roughhouse Mike until Mike decided it wasn't worth continuing. In the process McBride showed a very good chin, toughness, and a willingness to cheat/do whatever necessary. Wlad would in no way try to do those things b/c of Mike's power and Wlad probably couldn't take the shots McBride did. Like I said Wlad would win 8/10 (or maybe higher) but I don't know if the McBride fight is so relevant to the analysis.
Seen as though Tyson has been past his peak for 18 years I may have to go with Wlad. Prime Tyson would most likely break down the defence and shatter the glass jaw.
It depends on what Mike shows up, but Wlad should, and probably will win. I do however see Wlad getting rocked in the 1st round, but the fact Tyson is not a combination fighter no more and will probably allow Wlad to hold on the inside, doesnt bode too well for him. I can see the Tyson that fought Williams in July 0f 04 giving Wlad one hell of a time, Roach had him in pretty good fighting shape for that fight, if Wlad got hit with the shots Williams took, he would of melted like a snow cone from dairy queen.
Due to the sheer outlandishness of the poll, I was left with no other option than to choose Tyson UD. I believe that by bulking up the James Toney way and taking on a more pacifist attitude, combined with hanging out with the occasional washed up stripper type has once again rendered Tyson unbeatable.
This fight showed, if nothing else, that Mike even lost his punching power. McBride did lose every of his 6 fights with knockout, he doesnt have a good chin. Im positive Wlad also could easily handle Mike Tysons punches if they fight now. Prime Tyson would be Wlads nightmare though, but now he would rip him apart.
Tyson has been shot since 01, at this very moment he is not only shot but fat and old as well, Wlad by TKO in 4. Peak Tyson would have beat the **** out of Wlad though.
Tyson doesn't have the stamina to go 12. Later on in his career if he hadn't knocked out his opponent in 4; he was done. If it's sumo, he may stand a chance.
Good point. He started getting tired after 2, like in the Golota fight. He got him good in the 1st and then in the second he started to fade. Neverthless, whatever happened it was enough. Personally, I think the right hand that Golota took would put Wlad's lights out. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zVHlMpp97uk Today, I pick Wlad.
