A schooling is when you can do anything you please to your opponent. Wlad won a lot of wide decisions but he rarely schooled anyone, he was to afraid to put anything behind his punches to consider that he schooled Haye.
This. Wlad deserved a unanimous decision, but not a super wide one. Anything close to 116-112 seems fair. I think I had it 117-111. Neither was very effective and it was a horrible fight, but Wlad deserved the win just on the knockdown and activity. If Haye was willing to risk a little the fight could’ve been interesting, but he played it way too safe.
I’ve not watched it for awhile I remember Haye catching klitschko at one point on maybe round 3 but otherwise chasing, unloading and falling short for the rest of the fight while klitschko happy to jab and hold his way to a point win a very frustrating fight to watch for any Haye fans. Was this the toegate fight? I seem to remember my trainer at the amateur club telling everyone how hard it is to box with a broken toe. I also seem to remember never ever hearing what booth said to Haye in between rounds?
I had wlad winning but another common theme is wlads jab won it. I thought his punching was bang average. He averaged 8-9 jabs landed per round, good good. but landing 2ish power punches per round? Pretty poor. Lewis v holy 1, lewis landed an average of 14 power shots per round fury v wlad - fury landed 4-5 power per round Running aj 3-4 power per round v Ruiz
Not really?? Wlad was in control but haye made him miss most of his shots imo. That was the most frustrating fight for wlad cause he couldnt soften haye up enough with constant jabs to the face like he was used to. Out of all of wlads oponnents he wanted to ko haye the most vicious but just couldnt take those extra risks
