Haye was even more cautious than Wlad was. He didn’t even try to win. It was disgraceful after 3 years of trash talk.
landed more power shots than wlad. Wlad was happy to clinch his way to a decision. Haye was looking for openings Imagine Lennox Lewis or a prime to even decent version of tyson in there. Easy wins for each. Who clinched more....wlad or John Ruiz (the alleged clinching cheat)
Yes it was and Wladimir can't be blamed for Haye's failure to even try. Haye was content on not getting KO'd, that was his only strategy.
Yeah it was a schooling. Haye flapped his lips for years talking ****. Got pretty much shut out in the fight. I hope it still haunts him to this day.
I think wlad won by 4 points. what I would consider a complete schooling at heavyweight fury v chisora 2 Lewis v Tua vitali v arreola etc
People here aren't seeing the big picture. Too many are fixated on Wladimir's clinching, because it's cheating. Now I'm not denying it isn't, but are these same people calling out: 1) Holyfield for his consistent head-butting? Or 2) Lennox Lewis for his own excessive clinching, plus holding & hitting? Or 3) Anthony Joshua for his rabbit punching and holding & hitting? Or 4) Mike Tyson for his elbow-twisting technique in the clinches and his ear-biting? Or 5) Tyson Fury for his holding and hitting (such as when he KO'ed Bryant Jennings), or his illegal back-handed punches that doesn't land with the knuckles? It's fine to call out one guy for his 'cheating', but if you want to remain credible, call it out across the entire board by pointing out ALL the fighters that cheat instead of one, to remain consistent. Nowhere in the rule-book does it say that clinching is worse than those other illegal moves. If anything, because clinching is allowed in small quantities, it's a lesser crime. Whereas the rule-book totally forbids those other illegal moves. So don't come here crying about one guy clinching, whilst turning a blind-eye on every other 'cheater' in the same division. Oh, and nobody cares if you landed more power punches (according to compubox or any other flawed computer system) when your 'power punches' had less of a damaging affect OVERALL on your opponent than your opponent's jab had on you.
1- wlad also liked a headbutt against fury for example. Could dig up more if I could be bothered 2- lewis was cautious but don’t embarrass yourself comparing his holding to wlads. Please 3- wlad has never held and hit? You sure? 4- what about wlad throwing povetkin and Haye about. His wrestling. Tyson bit because of headbutts. Wlad headbutts because he was losing 5- fury never fought Jennings. Back handed punches.....please no.
Wladmir was well prepared that night from emanuel with the game plan but dont you think he couldnt get a stoppage if he had just taken more risk himself? it applies both ways. Haye tried that night till the end he was swinging wild hayemakers and had to find out that size advantage on a good Big guy matters a lot and that he couldnt overcome it that night
Haye literally didn’t try to win the fight. After 3 years of constant trash talk he showed up to survive and go 12 rounds. Not really much more to be said about this lopsided uncompetitive fight.
Haye didn't try at all. Even his swings were mostly aimless and made him look like he's still there when he really wasn't. He could have taken more risks considering his style is about taking risks while Wladimir's style isn't and never was. Haye had the speed advantage but just never pulled the trigger when it mattered because he didn't want to risk getting knocked out. It's very simple and obvious. That also explains his comical toe excuse after the fight. Wladimir's fighting style is all about jabs and a right hand when he has a clear safe opening. His style isn't about taking risks and forcing openings.
