I think Wlad would get some sort of horrible exhaustion stoppage over Rocky. I think Wlad would stop Frazier with punches. I think Tyson would knock Wlad out.

Wlad nowadays throws around 30 some punches a round, very seldom gets hit and dictates the pace. If you're Marciano/Frazier you need to get inside and hit Wlad. The smaller heavyweights need to throw punches at a pace Wlad can't hope to keep pace with and wear him out/knock him out. Of course easier said then done when he's laying all over you.

Ali/Holmes are faster and keep turning Wlad, hitting him with the jab and combinations off the jab. Boxing circles around him. Making him look slow and clumsy.

Lewis, simply over powers Wlad, cuffing him on the inside, physically pushing him around and landing overhand rights/left hooks and inside uppercuts on that chin. Lewis is meaner.

Joe Louis, greatest combination puncher in heavyweight history overwhelms Wlad with something he has never fought against, fast deadly combination punching. KO power in either hand, a crunching jab.

While I can appreciate Wlad and what he's done. I also realize he's vulnerable enough to lose to not the best opposition. Sometimes he's practically unwatchable in current form. Against Pulev though, he looked absolutely awesome. Not his fault that he hasn't had the best opposition.

Rocky threw 30 some punches a round for most of the Walcott fight.

    Where is Foreman ?
I hate this Ring mag.Stupid opinions by some nobody like merchant.
These persons don't know the objectivity.
But otherwise this question was a good idea by you because this list is the best example some journalists' stupidity.

    - Louis ? I believe he was great but he was very vulnerable.
    Klitschko by ko2
-Marciano destroyed (not prime) Louis but i think he was
the better/tougher fighter. But Marciano never beat a successful tall fighter.
    Klitschko by ko8

    -Patterson ? Klitschko by ko1
    - I think some grandfathers live in love with Liston.
    Easy Klitschko win by ko.
    - Ali by ko4
-Frazier. He was too weak and vulnerable.First round Klitschko win.
-Holmes wasn't too impressive against ****ey.
But i can imagine a Sanders type Holmes win.
-The Rooney version Tyson by ko3.
    Ruddock version Tyson by ko7
The Lewis version Tyson: Klitschko by ko10
    -Lewis by ko5

One side of the coin that we have to look at, is Wlad's longevity and consistency.

Even if these people could have beaten him prime for prime, he would simply have outlasted a lot of them.

If he has one off night, and they have two, he wins the series.

    Thompson. Turkey wins KO

Without clinching , Wlads got nothing. He fouled the worst HW era to death to stay on top.
Valeuv would never have lost and would have beat everybody Wlad beat if he was allowed octabox like Wlad. Would that have made Val a top 10 of all time?? Hell no.

I wouldn't take Wlad to beat Buster Mathis in a proper match-up.

But in truth the opposite happened.

Wlad was the one who took the tougher fights.

Wlad has so many flaws , he's lucky he never met an ATG that could expose them.

Look at this. A move like that is suicide against Joe Louis.

    http://i.minus.com/ibbKpp5g9PTR5P.gif

A Louis right hand shooting upwards landing right on the button of the on chin is hard enough to put Vitali over.

Wlad would be stiffened out for a week on first contact.

That explains Vitali 're-matching' Corrie Sanders.

I used to enjoy thinking like you but I cant anymore, its no use Dino, Vlad and todays big guys are just too good, Louis wasn't over 200lbs for most of his prime, that clinching and bullying would frustrate Louis,,

Vlad UD 12,, lets be fair the guys of today are too long for Louis, in Louis's day the bigger guys were not as skilled overall, today they are. Vlad might not be as quick as Louis but he is pretty quick isn't he? That's correct Dino, I know its painful to consider, but its the truth dude. Don't fight it. I think Lewis would beat Wladdy if that makes you feel better?
