Well, I'm struggling to see how Ali would work with the size deficit. He's not really a counter-puncher or a pressure fighter and isn't really good at getting inside a guy's arms. He's running uphill stylistically as an outside fighter taking on a guy with physcial advantages from the outside. The historical record is bulging with examples supporting that. Thus I am puzzled.

 

I don't trust Boxrec's listings. Terrell doesn't even look taller than Ali here.

On second thoughts, I might be making too much of the size thing though.

 

Not really, I'd say there's an inch or so in it at most, accounting for his hunching over.

Boxrec has loads of errors on this.

I'm surprised about this though. I remember crudely going through Ali's Boxrec and checking if he'd fought anyone particularly big before, I must have ignored Terrell because I was so sure he looked roughly the same height.

 

He looks big here actually.
