I wouldn't put any money on it either if the truth be known. I would put money on Bruno being VERY competitive in the battle of the jabs though, and that it would be the toughest opponent WALDO would have faced up to yet. As for Bruno fading....as I recall he faded late in fights a couple of times but he certainly didn't fade in the middle rounds, unlike some :hey
Not at all, Lewis V Tua was dull as I admitted - not coma inducingly dull like the average WALDO fight though, and Tua was far more dangerous than anyone WALDO has fought recently - at least he was when Lewis fought him.
He didn't fade against Tyson, he got beaten up - same with Lewis. He lost to Bonecrusher after getting hit hard in the final round due to inexperience similar to WALDO V Purrity, he'd won every minute of every round of that fight yet went into the last round looking for the KO and got nailed, he was only 23 at the time. He was way ahead on the cards against a very good boxer in Witherspoon too but his stamina let him down again, that was when he was 25. Two further losses to Tyson and one to Lewis suggests to me that he was a seriously good operator who happened to be unfortunate to be fighting in a strong division. Some idiot at the start of this thread suggested that Bruno wouldn't even be in the top 25 today, that's about as moronic as it gets.
Tua's short arms can be handled when you stay at arms length-Ruiz came in and asked for it- and boy, did he get it- Lewis played it smart. Lennox knew Tua he had bigtime power.
Keeping that version of Tua at arms length was easier said than done, he managed to clock Lewis with a few big shots in that fight, even though Lewis gave him a lesson Tua did have a few moments. I was disappointed in Lewis after that fight actually, Tua was all class in the post fight interviews whereas Lewis acted like an arrogant *****. As for Ruiz I'd hardly say poor tactics cost him that fight, he was knocked out cold before it even started  No-one else has ever done that to Ruiz and he's been in with some good names over the years, which kind of proves my point about how dangerous Tua was back then.
Wlad would've likely froze up if he fought Tua and got KTFO, He looked like **** against Fat Peter FFS.
I didn't say that. I think Bruno would be top 10 and maybe even have a belt. I could see Frank beating or being beaten by Chagaev for instance. That's a better comparision than the top man Wladimir vs. Bruno IMO.
I think Peter is more dangerous and certainly more well rounded skills wise than Tua. They both have lethal left hooks but I'd give the right hand edge to Peter & Peter has also shown a better jab in his fights against Toney.
I was at the Lewis/Bruno fight at Cardiff. Big fan of Lewis. However Bruno is underrated. He was outboxing and beating an ATG in prime Lewis to the jab before tiring and getting stopped. I would give Bruno a chance against most HW. Just wish someone like Roach had coached him and relaxed those muscles. :bbb
If Lewis was signing autographs on one block and Bruno was signing autographs on the next block, who do you see drawing a bigger crowd where you live?
Yeah but that was hardly a motivated Moorer...Moorer had been stopped a few times in his career before that whereas no-ones ever done to Ruiz what Tua did
