Saying Bruno wouldn't be top 25 today eliminates all credaibility, guys like Peter, Valuev, 40 yr old maskeav have won titles.

Apart from the Tyson fights, Bruno never got outboxed as far as I can remember, he had a great jab and left hook, threw decent uppercuts and his right hand was a real hammer blow. He'd give WALDO nightmares and would give VITLAY all he could handle too - he's not the usual spoon-fed midget, he was 6 foot 3 of solid muscle with an 82 inch reach.

40 wins and 38 KO's says a lot, he could bang and to say he wouldn't have a chance against a shaky chinned WALDO is idiotic.

I honestly think he could beat both, especially Vitali, who is much tougher but is also the much slower, less skilled, and by far less cordinated of the Klits.

Thank God there's still some rational people on here :good

When Bruno was active he was at the lower half of the top 10 as I recall for most of his career and only lost to guys that were World Champions (Smith, Tyson x 2, Lewis and Witherspoon)

Also he was only ever knocked out once, at 23 years old, against Smith. Compare that resume to the losses that WALDO has....

I suspect Bruno would be a huge force in todays division, yet in his prime he struggled like hell to get a version of the title. That's how far the division has sunk in the last 15-20 years.

With all honesty I can't pick 1 better fighter in this division than Bruno. Certainly not one that I could honestly, 100% say would beat him.

reading the posts i'm inclined to agree with the majority who feel it would be a hell of a fight but Bruno would gas in the later rounds: Wlad thrives on wearing guys out and waiting guys out until unloading the heavy artillery. Don't know if he could knock Frank out but his right would land at will past the 10th.

i'd put frank up there with the klits. Not better, not worse but it'd be a three way division instead of two

So he'd be in the top 25 then :D

Interesting that you think he'd gas against WALDO too. Bruno did tend to gas around the 10th round I know....but there's an equal chance of WALDO gassing in my opinion. It's really easy to fight and not get gassed like WALDO has been doing lately because he's not getting hit. Against Bruno he'd get hit, and often.

Bruno was a solid pro. but he couldn't compete at the top level, hence, his 1-4 record in world title fights. Meanwhile, Wlad boasts a 14-2 mark.

Wlad would wear him down to a late stoppage. The difference between Bruno and Wlad is when Bruno got hit, he froze and took more punches. Wlad gets out of there or clinches. His survival instincts are better.

WALDO boasts a 14-2 mark, against who?

Take another look at the guys Bruno lost to in world title fights. Then take a look at the guys WALDO lost to.

    End of argument.

true, pacing yourself against stiffs who **** their pants during the pre-fight staring is easier than pacing yourself over 12 hard rounds against one of the bravest ****ing fighters of his generation. bruno took on dudes that scared the hell out of him but went full force and took the fight to them: win or lose bruno was there to fight. saying that, if wlad can fight his fight, UD 12. BUT if Bruno can take him out of his rhythm he's got a serious shot

Bruno fought Tyson twice and he fought Lewis, that my friend is quite a bit different from fighting Ray Austin, a 36 yr old Rahman, Thompson or Ibragimov, further more being stopped by Tyson and Lewis is far more understandable than being stopped by guys like Sanders, Brewster, Purrity, and i could've sworn he almost got TKO'd by Fat Peter as well.

    :yep:yep:yep

Let's not forget that Bruno was also owning Witherspoon and Smith on the cards before he got caught in the later rounds, not to mention that he was also 4-2 up in rounds before Lewis stopped him (sound familiar?)

In the first fight with Tyson, Bruno legitimately rocked Tyson to his boots with a left hook too, Tyson admitted he was buzzed by the shot after the event. WALDO would have been staring at the lights at that point, VITLAY would have been running for his trainers, trying to think of a reason to quit. Bruno was a real fighter, and deserves more respect.
