Wlad wins most of the time. A prime Cooney might have had a chance against the Wlad who lost to Sanders.

 

I think Cooney could have done him in. Every guy Wlad lost to, he was supposed to beat. Cooney has the reach and height to give Wlad trouble. Wlad should win this but I feel Cooney would pull it out.

Cooney didn't throw well from long range, he never found a way to put snap on his punches and thats the key in this bout, Wlad and him would both tag each other but only Wlads would take a toll. If Gerry found the range with his left hook to the body, well,,,,,

 

Wlad could be a enigma . Cooney the same as i doubt his
mental strength . GC best chance is start quickly and hope
to land his big left hook. If Wlad survives a turbulent start
then i see him slowly taking GC apart like Holmes did.

Cooney relied on reach really to make everything work...Wlad is the master jabber..Cooney he was strong/wirey...fast and had good basics but wlad would be a different story...you dont pick Wlad apart like cooney did with other guys...the way you beat Wlad is alot of physical pressure really..Wlad was solid at 240 plus and just if not faster.

Wlad wins easy against a known one arm fighter with VERY good body shots buit he wont get that close to more seasoned/elite wlad and he gets a flush shot on Cooneys chin...around rnd 2/3.....this is like the foreman 1990 rematch but with just different styles.

Cooney's hook beats Wlad's jab. Cooney was aggressive enough to rattle Wlad. If Cooney can go that long with Holmes and stay competitive, he definitely finds a way with that hook against Wlad. Think the Brewster loss magnified x5.

 

Wladimir should win this.. But a prime cooney pushes him like no other losing challenger did. Cooney s left will rattle wlad early on and klitschko will have a war on his hands. But wlad should survive and start to connect with his right s and jab. By mid way cooney ll start to look fatigued, his face telling the story of wlad s jab . Klitschko will nail cooney some point in the eleventh and gerry will crumble.

 

I'd favour Wlad in safety first mode to stop Cooney. He was always in safety first mode.
