I don't have a source or a link. Just curious if anyone else has heard the rumours about Wlad fighting Holyfield in an exhibition fight. Apparently, Holyfield will do it for no money, probably hoping to land something and force a title shot. I just hope he remembers the last time a slick former champ fought a Russian (Ukranian, whatever) in an exhibition. RIP Apollo...RIP.
supposed to be a 10-rounder. Mike had an exhibition with Corey Sanders as well. Might be something like that.
I hope, for his own sake, Wlad doesn't agree to fight Holyfield. He'd get no respect whatsoever for it, he'd have nothing to gain from it. If he won - and my money would be on him doing so with ease - people would give him no end of crap for fighting an ancient Holyfield who had no business being in the ring with him in the first place at this stage in his career. It's a fight he doesn't need and one that can't be justified. EDIT: Even if it is an exhibition fight Holyfield is simply not at the stage of his career where he can legitimately be put in any ring with Wlad.
The fact that its been over ten years since his last fight with an elite level fighter in Lennox Lewis and he was totally outclassed when it happened. The fact that he's ancient and hasn't beaten anyone of worth in years and isn't even rated in the top 20. It would be a farce from a promotional standpoint, no less of a circus freak show atmosphere than when old Foreman was brought out for title fights. Holyfield might still be capable of that one great performance to gain a world title, but Wlad would stand to gain nothing whatseover from having a fight with him. If Wlad won he'd get a load of **** sent his way for fighting a has-been, if he lost or drew he'd get a lot of **** sent his way for failing to beat a has-been, it's a no-win situation for Wlad.
he's broke and he needs money, but no prime heavyweight champ in their right mind would give a 50 year old legend worn down by brutal ring wars a chance to win the title, and possibly suffer serious permanent damage to his health
