    Holmes stopped Ali. Noone else could!!!!! Holmes by this accomplishment alone is greater than Wlad will ever be. Add to that; He beat the mighty Ken Norton in one of the greatest heavyweight fights of the last 30 years. So what if Norton had been KO'd by some guy early in his career, KO'd by Foreman 5 years before before barely losing to Holmes and well past his prime. That's how good Norton was. Even though he well down the backslope of his career, he still gave Larry Hell!!! Then the indestructible Jerry Cooney, Spinks was just lucky that Larry softened up Jerry 1st. And Jerry was just lucky that Larry had softened up Norton before he had to fight Norton in 81. Wlad would not have a chance against this murderers row. Add Tex Cobb, Renaldo Snipes, and The Flying Spinks Brothers to the mix??? Good luck with them Wlad.

    Holmes was awesome and an absolute pleasure to watch.His fight with Mercer was not only a great win but in my eyes it goes down as one of my favorite sports moments,,,,they began to love Larry.

    This however isnt a knock on his career nor is it a Wlad vs Larry fantasy match up.

    Not a fan of fantasy match ups but if i had to make a prediction prime for prime i would say Holmes UD.

    Holmes was not strong enough to keep Lewis off him, even a small Spinks kicked his arse! They there was Tyson!

    He was old against Tyson and Spinks was a small guy with a high workrate.Even then the fight was controversial.

    They would be acceptable if those guys were A., a hard-hitting top contender, and B., a former linear world heavyweight champion. It's the man that counts, not the numbers.
