I read in the Daily Mail (UK) today that talks are stalling and Haye reckons Wlad is looking for a new opponent. Anyone know if there's anything else been said? I hope it's not true. This fight needs to happen!

There are a few threads on this subject already.............

Basically K2 has offered Haye what they said is a more than fair amount for the fight & Haye appears to be holding out for more. This is prizefighting and I can't really blame either side without knowing the actual number offered & the percentage of the whole. Chef works with Wladimir & he said the amount was ridiculously high to begin with...............

  3. I thought Vitaly was going to fight Haye:huh
**** boxing is so day by day who knows:huh
I think Wlad beats Haye, no doubt:yep
Vitaly-Haye would be a harder tougher more competitive fight..

Yeah I thought there might have been people talking about it but couldn't see anything as have just come in from work! Sorry to everyone!

Haye is being greedy then, wants to walk away from boxing an instantly rich man!

Back to this again. "More than fair" in who's opinion?

Chef has a wee conflict of interest goin' on. Toe the party line or he's flipping burgers at some roadside roachwagon. :yep

What part of "they said" didn't you understand?

I didn't confirm anything............and obviously Chef knows more about the inner workings than you or I but of course he'd have a bias toward Wlad's side.

My friend talked all this **** about how he wanted to go skydiving last year. We got a big group together and went, but when he got to the site and saw the planes taking off and the people coming down he began to hope for bad weather. And when the bad weather never showed up, he just straight up bitched out and didn't go, said he didn't feel good.

David Haye reminds me of my friend.

Haye's taken the risky route to where he is, what you're suggestiig would be quite out of character.

Why? Get name recognition and an aura around you as being a top heavyweight, by calling out the top heavyweights...only to have the fight fall apart somehow. When the dust settles, noone REALLY cares about why the fight wasn't made, and everyone knows your name and associates it with the best heavyweights in the world. You go and beat up a few average heavies and make headlines and your reputation grows, now everyone is REALLY paying attention to you and eventually you do fight one of the Klits but you make a hell of a lot of money before you get your ass kicked. Sounds like a good plan to me. :good

sure seems like Haye is 'bottling it up'. Money is just a pretense like it was for Toney, Maskaev, Valuev, etc....

All I can say is that based on what "challengers" get (and I know Haye brings alot to the table compared to other guys) the offer was BIG. At some point it could get to a take it or leave it offer. Haye said he "wanted the best", the offers are MORE than he would get fighting another guy by far. If Haye says NO, then we know its all about $$$ not "fighting the best"

I think they will make the deal
