Does anyone know the specifics of the contract that was deemed unacceptable by Haye? I'm hearing conflicting reports on this one.
Let's see how smart that move really is for Haye. Here are a few things to consider: 1. Against either Klitschko, if Haye would have shown a good effort, win or lose, he would still be a marketable fighter. Against Valuev, if he somehow loses, he is a total joke at HW. 2. He will be out of the ring for one year by the time he fights Valuev. Haye is not some kind of savy ring veteran, he has just 23 pro fights, almost all against much smaller men than himself. Inactivity doesn't help him much. 3. Valuev hes been the recipient of more than one shady decision. 4. Who knows what kind of strings King is pulling behind the scenes if Hay wins. Whos knwos what the WBA will do if he wins, if they line up mandatories and prevent a fight with the Klitschkos.
I think haye reneged on Vitali because Valuev became an option for him -- wise career move, he is the clear favorite by a mile and it will up his bargaining chips significantly.
He probably wanted a clause written into the contract that he DIDN'T have to take a hard punch to the chin.
Haye should have gone into the Valuev fight first. He was acting like he was a champ already with the Klitschko's and he has not fought a top 25 guy yet. The Klitschko's are smart but if Haye thinks they want options wait till King gets started. Anyway Chagaev was the real Champ who beat Valuev so I think the W.B.A. is a mute point at this time. There is no WBA title, Vlad owns it. At first I thought Haye would have an easy time with Valuev ( who is just big) but I am curious to see this fight because I am not so sure of Haye and lets see if he does not pull out of this one also
I think number 4 is the only real potential problem. Haye should dominate, if not he's not that hot a prospect we thought he might be
:good:good:good What has Haye done in the 16 months in the heavyweight div'?, fought Barret and talk ****. He is all bark and no bite.
Haye is all talk. He just wants an easier fight. I've never heard of the Klitschkos making outrageous demands.
David Haye's act is tiring. I'm not even offended anymore. What a bore. Will he EVER fight a K brother? Jesus H...
Valuev is a better fight, but he will need to fight one or both of the Klistchkos eventually. You can only offer up reasons otherwise for so long, he will have to fight them. So I'll give him the benefit of the doubt now, hope he beats Valuev and gets it on with either guy after that. Although actually I could see Ruiz forcing him into a mandatory defence first. All this 'chicken**** fraud' stuff is just the usual childish banter, stuff which Haye has whipped up himself as well so no surprise really. I don't have a lot of time for it and I've always been glad that it has little place in Classic.
Haye should crush Valuev. If he cant crush Valuev he should apologize for impersonating a fighter and retire immediately. I thought Valuev lost to Holyfield in his last fight, if you could call it a "fight". Haye deserves criticism for his inactivity and it's a matter of fact that he pulled out of the Wlad Klitschko fight, but if he was injured or even worse he wasn't gonna get paid then you cant really blame him. But to say he "pulled out" or the vitali fight is inaccurate. They didn't agree terms, the negotiations stalled at the last minute. Happens all the time. It's a far cry from withdrawing from a signed fight that your opponent has been training for weeks for. As for his talking and bragging, well, it's just hype, it helps bring the PPV audience in. It's business. I dont take it seriously, I ignore it. Only children and wrestling fans take it seriously. When Haye actually bothers getting in the ring he's usually a very exciting and talented fighter. Let's not forget that.
