IF Haye wins what would it prove? Wlad has been knocked out by 3rd tier fighters before so if Haye does it then it provse nothing. If Wlad wins what does it prove? That he faced a blown up cruiserweight with no chin and beat him? Who really cares about this fight.
One thing that hasn't really been addressed is that Haye is a fast fighter who i think hits hard enough to stop Wlad, and he is matching him at JUST the time Wlad is starting to slow down. That is a dangerous time to fight a fast, fast fighter. I really rated Thompson for speed (Apparently that was only me though!), but Haye also bangs. And I suspect he will have a plan.
we have not seen Haye against a worthy heavy but he is getting the hype...he does have amatuer background and a solid career as a crusier, he can punch and has speed, how he will react the vlads arsenal remains to be seen but its worth a peak
I truly hope that Wlad knocks this guy Haye out and looks impressive doing so..I don't think he should get carried away withe this notion of "punishing him for 12 rounds before knocking him out...I think he should clinically dissect Haye for a few rounds and lower the boom in let's say the 7th round. I like both Klitschkos and think that regardless of what their haters and detractors may say, they are good for boxing, not only as fighters, but as decent, articulate, non-trash talking exceptions in the world of boxing. Okay, Vitali has his menacing, kind of sadistic dark side, but generally, both men are a welcome change of pace from the usual garbage spewing, bufoons that boxing has been riddled with since the time of Ali.
How many guys in the heavyweight division have his combination of speed & power? The last one who did was Sanders (his brother aside).
Forget speed........it's about styles....and Haye clearly has the style to beat Wlad. Look at the tapes that I put up.
Haye's power is untested at heavy. He might also be a tad slow, and have less punching stamina at heavy. Guys like Ibragimov and Brock had fast hands and could hit.
What do you mean "at heavy"? He's going to be pretty much the same weight he always was, but without cutting to make the cruiserweight limit. He isn't drastically bigger now, than he always was on fight night. The thing which should change is Haye's chin, which should improve without him needing to cut weight,
If Haye fights at 210-215, he will be small for heavy. Chins do not improve when a fighter moves up in class. Quite the opposite.
If the fighter is natural at that weight, yes, but someone who struggled like Haye? There's been a lot of fighters, who punch resistance was not as good, due to cutting weight. Nigel Benn and Miguel Cotto spring to mind.
I agree completely. As for Wladimir maybe looking sadistic, well, Brewster-Klitschko 2. That was pure evil, I felt terrible for Brewster, Wladimir is one sick **** when you **** him off.
You said that "a lot of guys have that speed and can hit". Sorry, but you're fooling yourself if Brock and Ibragimov have the same combination of speed and power. Ibragimov has the speed but not the power. Brock is good all-round but outstanding in neither.
