...anyone else than me rather wanted to see Joshua facing Wilder first. I thought that was mouth watering and important fight for many reasons and it would have made sense to happen right now.
No. Wladdy fight has to be as soon as possible because the longer it takes, the less significant it would be. Winner can fight the winner of Povetkin vs Wilder. And maybe loser vs loser as well...
Well said. The winner of this vs the winner of Wilder-Povetkin or Wilder-Parker would be great to see though.
Aj vs DW is the hw fight, Aj vs Wlad is Aj destroying a "nane" fighter for big money and NO risk. When he fights DW or Haye, that's big money also but there's real risk in those fights. Both have top of the line HW power and both have the mindset to land said shots, Wladimir is going to freeze vs Aj NOT the other way around. Aj was born for this **** as was DW, Wladimir was like them until he proved he did not have the chin to go along with his talent. Aj and DW have the kill or be killed mentality, that's what being HW champ is ALL about.
AJ vs. DW is not a big money fight right now . AJ vs. Wlad is a 40 million purse. That's where the big cash is.
I understand what you are saying,. I just thought ideal scenario would have been Wlad rematching Fury and Joshua facing Wilder. I know wasnt going to happen but it would given the best fights for us. That is all.
Wlad would have done better to take a tune-up fight and shake off some ring rust, but then what if he ended up looking like crap? It would take some of the shine off the Wlad-Joshua bout.
