I put this on the classic though its more current then say Dempsey or Marciano its from a past era between 2 Champions not just belt holders
and because the Wlad Haye fall out is bad and I want real opinions not haters

I was in a discussion about this and the fantasy what if matchup has me thinking

    What to consider

Wlad- WBO title holder on a nice KO Streak (theoretically beat Sanders) KO'd a big fighter like MCline so he could cope with height and size, Stopped Mercer a guy who gave Lewis hell, stopped Botha later than Lewis, had a big KO over Shufford and other notable wins are Byrd who he dominated and Barret who he beat pretty bad and beat a 3rd common opponent in Phil Jackson

Lewis- In contrast to Wlad he was out of his prime years and not as busy of a fighter in his last 5 He KO'd Tyson in a mega fight avenged loss to Rahman in highlight reel KO fashion, was KO'd in highlight reel fashion by Rahman, Outpointed top contender and puncher Tua, stopped tough German Botha in 2

Wlad was number 1 in the Ring and had been for some time

He stands about an inch taller and was similar in size at the time Lewis was about 5 pounds heavier

Also had Wlad handled Sanders with ease like he handled his other foes the blue print on how to beat him would not have been there

Lewis is a boxer but also fights like a chess player (as Wlad does now) he likes to feel you out and figure out a strategy that means he is at a distance fighting tall and out of harms way while landing jabs and power punches with ease. Wlad back then was more aggressive and threw more per round and let the right hand and left hook go more often.

Now Lennox could bomb you early, Grant, Botha, Ruddock, Rahman 2

But he can also get caught early Briggs, McCall 1

Fighters gave him tough fights like Bruno up until the KO and Mercer

Wlad could tire Purrity and Sanders

They had tall opponents Grant KO 2 McCline KO in 10

Who would win this fight? How? Would Wlad get in the bombs early, and how would Lennox respond? Would Lennox hurt him like Grant early and jump on him right away or would Lennox make this a chess match and keep it at a distance and have two great jabbers jab away

Lets say Sanders came to take a dive, then Lewis is the 1 to score the 2nd round KO instead

Lewis was past his prime by the time this fight would have taken place, but Wlad was also still a work in progress, and probably wouldn't refine his skills for at least another two years. Of course, Lewis is a totally different dissimilar fighter to Sanders, as it was Corrie's left that destroyed Wlad, but I don't know if Wlad would have been ready for Lennox yet.

at that time wlad really had no defensive abilities of any offensive capabilities to really be a match for a puncher like lewis so he would off gotten kayoed in the first or second round howevdr as the years passed the big lug has gotten better with his defense and offense and he is doing a good job these days and if he were to fight lewis the way he fights as of today he would give lewis a good match and the fight could go either way with someone getting kayoed:yep:think
