Wlads's lack of an uppercut would allow Marciano inside to bang that body but Wlad would either lean back to slip the head shots or tie Marciano up and negating the only way Marciano can win. Rocky never faced anyone even remotely close to being as big and tall as Wlad. Wlad has a 14 inch reach advantage for christ sake and about 55-60lbs weight advantage. The way Wlad fights now would greatly reduce the chances of Marciano being able to get into range to get his shot off. Wlad either KO's Marciano late, as Rocky wouldn't stop trying to force the fight or stops him on cuts.
Has the general forum now turned into another classic fourm ?, nice to see the ****ing mods doing something about it all
Vlad has all the size advantages and would be tight as a clam against Marciano. Marciano's size may work to his advantage because Vlad would have to reach the crouching Marciano at 5"11 while Vlad is 6"6 still Marciano would not be afraid to get into his range or to take a risk at getting to his body arms and head, In today's time Marciano would be bigger in the 50's Vlad would be much smaller in weight but Marciano was not much Shorter than Lamon Brewster and had far more energy, will and recuperative power...If there was a such thing as a time machine Vlad would be hard to outpoint over 12 but if we brought Vlad back to the 50's and over 15 rds I would bet pretty hard on Marciano
Marciano would get inside but the question is whether the ref let's Wlad hold, because that is what he would be doing. There was a lot less holding in the past so if Wlad couldn't hold I would see him KOed in 3 rounds. He has a ****ing glass jaw for chief sake and no inside game.
people actually think Marciano has a chance vs. Vlad? Vlad and Marciano were not the same weight class.
It honestly all depends on wether Marciano can get on the inside to do enough damage before Wlad clinches and leans. Wlads lack of a sufficient uppercut or any inside game whatsoever is really something to worry about. However that being said Rocky is facing a massive size, weight and reach deficit. Can he overcome it?, I'm not so sure he can.
Marciano didn't need today's technology to give him an edge he was known to be a gym rat and over trained all the time. He was always in shape. Bob Hayes ran a 100 meter 3rd leg in 8.6 seconds and he was 5'10'' to Usain Bolt's 6'3''. Will, dedication, and determination is all that's needed.
