Sadly thats just not gonna happen imo.

Neither Fury or Helenius will accept a typical K2 low-ball, slave contract nor should they.

Wlad can pay peanuts for someone far less deserving & still sell out a stadium, thats what will probably happen.

I'd still rather see Wlad fight James Toney.
Oquendo is old and finished. Terrible fight! Oquendo was beaten by an MMA fighter and James Toney!

So Mormeck,Thompson again.Wach and now Oquendo? Sounds about right. Maybe Holyfield next or Bobby Czyz.

Well it seems wlad isn't even gonna attempt to negotiate with a live body for his next outing.

You might want to edit that avatar and replace "WAR" with "BUFFET".

Which is understandable as there's no incentive for him to do so.

**** fight in the spring then a big fight in the summer.

    The incentive is legacy.

A champion improves his legacy by facing ranked challengers consistently.

When one of those is calling you out you should be taking him on.

I basically disagree with your premise completely. It isn't like this is just a stay busy fight, it's a defence of the unifies titles.

So hang on, Wlad asked the WBA to give him an extension for the Povetkin mandatory just to fight Oquendo?

It should be pretty obviously that the Povetkin camp really want the huge outdoor stadium fight with Wlad to bring in the wonga for such a super fight. Pay no attention to Saureland's posturing. He probably agreed the deal with the WBA. As for the Oquendo possible fight, it's ****.

All true. Except Fury, no one else is calling out Wlad, so if he fights Oquendo, so be it, I'm not gonna criticise this choice.

    Legacy, shmegacy :tong

K2 have to fufill their contractual obligations & fill their tv dates, if Vitali is retiring then Wlad will be a busy boy this year.

What I meant by no incentive is that the German tv company (I think its RTL) who K2 have a contract with will show whoever he fights & his fans will fill a stadium regardless. Wlad will get paid no matter how bad his opponent is, the worse they are the less K2 will have to pay them.

It is a keep busy fight for the champ, all the long term champions have a fair amount of dross mixed in with better fighters & Wlad is the champion of a weak division.

What happened to the best taking on the best drMo? ****in gooseberry.... Hes the champ but doesn't want to fight the best.
His next defence is the equivalent or worse than Mayweather fighting Paul Maclosky.
Froch would probably retire rather than drag his name through the dirt fighting 4 Mac's in a row.
