Zhang is dangerous in the first 6 rounds and we all see what another big punching Southpaw did to Wladimir early in Corrie Sanders.

If Wladimir can fight smart and survive the first 6 rounds I'd heavily favour him but those first 6 rounds would be a bit of minefield for Wladimir.

Wlad would smother his way to victory, as usual. Most likely a bit of a repeat of the first Peter fight.
If Parker can outbox Zhang on the back foot, then so can Wlad. Only difference is that Wlad had the power to hurt anyone.

Zhang KO and I’m being serious

Wlad was so effective because he was able to use his reach to keep smaller opponents at bay, then tie them up when they got inside - he couldn’t do that against guys his own size (Fury and AJ)

280lb Zhang avoids getting tied up all night, he would land a sharp straight left on Wlad’s fragile chin and Wlad would go down

Wlad puts ‘whatever that means’ down for the count in round 11.

If it was young Wlad I'd favour Zhang, but I'd favour peak Wlad to get the decision as Zhang will struggle to keep up with Wlad's jab and gastank in the long-run. Also, Wlad is much better than both Parker/Joyce, they are stylistically awkward for each other at the same time.

I voted Wlad by ko but immediately realised that's completely illogical.

    Zhang knocks him out.

Wlad stays away from Zhang and the big lad tires after the 6th....minute. Zhang becomes a punch bag after the 6th and is stopped viciously after 8. Whoo whoo it's the Chinese freight/hype train....

A very dangerous fight. But Zhang is nowhere near as fast and aggressive as what Corrie was.

    I'm assuming we're talking about 06-15 Wlad................

We know Zhang can be outboxed, he was by a much smaller man who wasn't as good an outboxer as Wlad. Plus, Wlad is just as statuesque. Wlad also had better feet, far more power, a better defense (he took nearly no punishment during his prime run) and again was a far better outboxer than the man who still fairly recently outboxed Zhang (which is still assumedly peak Zhang).

Not sure if Wlad takes the chance to stop him, I have no doubt the scorecards would read 117-111 Wlad.

Zhang is too big and strong for Wlad to octopus him, as was his way. Zhang by brutal KO leaving onlookers to comment how the hype train got de-railed ... for the fourth time (Purrity, Sanders, Brewster).

Wlad by decision. Zhang only has a punchers chance and he is too slow to get to Wlad IMO.
It's easy to bring up Wlad's KO losses that were few and far between considering he had 70 pro fights don't forget Zhang was out boxed by Parker and Hrgovic.

Wlad should dominate him. If Parker could successfully box off the back foot and outpoint Zhang I don’t see why Wlad couldn’t.
