    The bottom line.

Ali was allowed such a long leash during the latter half of his second reign it was laughable. I really wish the ref's would be stricter regarding the clinches but if they are going to allow these shenanigans, Wlad would be an idiot not to take advantage.

I totally agree Ali got away with loads of stuff and wlad is allowed to now and if he can gain an advantage I don't blame him . That though does not change my view that he is boring to watch .

Are you having a laugh? You're speaking rubbish.

Wlad is fighting guys you never heard of in your life.

One fight before Povetkin he fought his own sparring partner who he beat up and sent home in preparation for the Thompson rematch. This was after a number of fights against non rankers.
You have a good think about that yeah?

Right now he is stalling instead of fighting No.1 Pulev to wait for a van driver to recover from an injury so he can have another easy defence.

Wlad wants nothing to do with a tough challenge.

Well he has fought Byrd, Peter, Ibragimov, Chagaev, Haye, Chambers, Povetkin amongst others.

Basically guys ranked in the top five.

What other top heavyweight of recent years, has taken those kind of matches regularly, when they were in possession of any sort of title?

If he had fought Chisora, some people would have criticised him for fighting an unranked fighter.

I happen tothink that Chisora was a top 10 heavyweight when he spat at Wlad, but it is not a fight that Wlad should be criticised for not pursuing.

Byrd was top five 8 years ago.

Should somebody tell Mayweather he was allowed to cease fighting ranked contenders 2 years ago and now he can fight his sparring partners and bottom rankers?

Wlads last fight was against the #2 ranked Alexander Povetkin, so it is hard to argue that he has "ceased fighting ranked contenders".

Do not take his willingness to fight guys like Povetkin for granted, because the next incumbant might not, unless a sactioning body forces them to.

There have been a lot of beltholders in recent years, who make Wlad look like a saint!

What's your point? Wlad fought him 7 (almost 8) and 13 years ago, destroying him the second time.

Now I can see why people are hating on Wlad just like they did Ruiz, neither one is better than the other, they both fight like they are scared shitless..
Wlad is getting older, at 38 he will start slipping soon, and when someone lands a bomb on his chin and knocks him out there will be a lot of happy people, lol..

Yes, I blame guys for taking advantage when you can get away with massive cheating. Just as I blame champs who can get away with fighting inferior opposition., or guys that can get away with using PEDS. Just because you can do the wrong thing, whether it happens to be technically illegal or not, does not justify doing it. Have the guts to risk losing, including a title, by fighting in a sportsmanlike, fair way. Otherwise you will be docked for your achivement & historical legacy.

Don't you think though, that there is a difference between the odd strategic clinch here and there, and using the clinch (and other 'tactics') to turn a fight into a non-fight? To basically foul your way to victory?

It's not sporting and the if the refs were stronger and stopped the clinching at least it would make wlad fights more watchable . Saying that I am not a kilt fan , but if you could gain an advantage in a fight wouldn't the same tactic and the ref let you get away with it wouldn't you use it .

The fight should of been a DQ loss for Wlad.

You don't know that. The US are not as tolerent on championship bum fights as Germany are.
It has been a terrible era, but has been has been growing in talent in recent times.
