Wlad vs Sultan is also Russia vs Ukraine

Doesn't matter much to either guys I think. Contrary to what both fighters have been saying, it's pretty much a fact that almost all the individual countries previously in the Soviet Union really don't like each other much.

 

Not sure what it has to do with Boxing, but I guess it matters more to people in Russia and Ukraine, not so much here in the states.

 

Wlad don't speak Ukrain... He speaks Russian although with funny accient.

But still, there's a lot of bad blood in Russian forums.

 

Russians, Ukranians it's the same people. You better learn how to get along.

Klitschkos are global fighers and have nothing against Russia nor any other nation. They are ambassadors for UNESCO, help children all over the world, does not matter what nation they are from and they have proven this for many years now.

 

True, but many russians have against them, as you can see from preceeding 2 posts.

This is irrespective of NATO and any politics, that's just like English vs Irish.

PS I'm russian and big Wlad's fan. It's a stress to be Wlad's fan even within family, not to mention ru-zone.

 

Good to hear that someone is aware of that. Most guys here think of them as being all the same, yet most ex-sovjet countries don't like Russia.

Ukraine and Russia are enemies now.Makes me laugh! There are still millions of Russians living in Ukraine,and there is still a lot of sympathy and trust between ordinary Russians and Ukranians.A Russian and a Ukranian can understand each other without any problems,and both nations have shared a long history together.There are not enemies.Nonsense!
Besides the Klitschko brothers stem from a Russian speaking family.
Russians and Ukranians are like two brothers of the same family.Like Americans and Canadiens.
I dare to say that there are a lot ordinary fight fans in Russia who will root for Wlad.
Sultan isnt the perfect embodiment of an ordinary Russian in certain ways.
Islam Timurziev is the undisputed nr.1 at the heavies (amateurs) in Russia.He will probably turn pro after the olmypics.I am positive that he will win a world title within 2-3 years,but like Sultan he isnt the perfect Russian hero for obvious reasons.I guess that a true Ukranian heavy weight world title holder would be more popular among ordinary Russians than Timurziev.

 

Im Ukrainian, a nationalist, dont like Russia .. i hope Klitschko destroys Iggy before smashing Povetkin and then destroying the giant russian freak Valuev for fun.

Plus, many Ukrainian athletes had the chance to represent Russia after the fall of the USSR because they had soviet passports, and many did, for the money tehy were offered. Thats why athletes that represent Ukraine, that had the chance to represent Russsia but decided to compete for their motherland and perform wearing the blue/yellow flag (Klitschko's, Mikhailichenko,Bubka etc etc) are held in such high regard and such strongly supported by their fellow countrymen.

I think the Russia/Ukraine part of the fight is huge ....

And for those claiming all people form these countries get on like best mates, these are the people that obviously dont come from Halychyna !!!
