Why not? If Povetkin wants that tuneup first and Valuev continues to fight cripples and senior citizens , give Lights Out his shot in his hometown. He's been begging for it...give it to him.

I'd rather see this than Arreola who imho is more a HBO hypejob than the genuine article :nut

There's not much else available. I can't think of a more intriguing opponent.

id buy this fight. it is an intrigueing fight. toney may have badly faded athletically but his skills are still there. id like to see if his shoulder roll and granite chin can keep him upright fighting against someone as big and talented as wlad. and any way the fight goes it would be interesting i personally think it would be the first stoppage loss in toneys career. but i dont think he would be ktfo i think it would be a ref stoppage probably late in the fight.

Toney is going to get hurt bad. There is going to be some permanent damage if the fight is allowed.

Is this actually going to happen or is it a "what if?"

it's a what if...it's looking like arreola may happen which interests me very little. At least Toney has bad blood with the klitschkos, never been stopped and is recognized as an ATG by many.

Arreola brings nothing except an undefeated record and a beer belly.

u wont get an argument from me Hotti_Killer. just saying some people here think he's one of the best P4P fighters of the era. Today, he's no better than top 15 at hw and that's probably being somewhat generous. Not a competitive fight, but neither is Arreola imo.

first I think toney is a great fighter....but this fight would only be interesting to see if he can make it to the final bell. Haye is now out of the fight with Vitali so this one could be interesting.

This fight should not take place. I still can't believe that, for years, people were foolish enough to believe Toney could possibly beat Vlad.

Toney is hands down an ATG and will easily get into the HOF. he is arguably one of the greatest fighters if not the greatest fighter of the last 15 years. He is certainly a top 3 fighter of the last 15 years. Toney just turned 40 yrs old and had his 80th pro fight. He started at 157 lbs and now and has been a serious contender at heavy.

What other fighter could move from middle to heavy and fight there for 10 fights against some of the best of the division?

Is Toney the best guy to fight Wlad right now? probably not. Would he do better than Arreola? I say yes. Arreola is going to get slowly beat into submission against wlad. Toney could atleast box Wlad and likely see the final bell.

I think Toney would be a better fight for Wlad than Arreola would. Arreola wouldn't see round 3, whereas Toney's slick defense would make him hard to catch, not to mention that Toney can take quite a shot...........

im not saying he isn't a HOF or great fighter but just not at hw. He clearly proved his worth moving up all those weight classes.

Im not sure if he would be more competitive than Arreola but there is far more intrigue cause they have a history and toney has never been stopped.
