Post 2007 Wlad is the better boxer, faster hands, harder puncher, better jab, more intelligent, more experience, better using range, and is a master at clinching. Wlad out points vitali, he's too smart to get caught by Vitali
Wlad hasn't been knocked down in the past 10 years despite fighting the worlds best. What does that say about wlads defense? Vitali won't land anything on him
While I agree Wlad has good defense, he also is very cautious when matched vs the best for the most part. Vitali liked to engage his man, welcomes exchanges, and fights back when he's hit. He won't let you be cautious and Wlad really doesn't shine fighting outside of his terms. In this fight, he meets someone bigger and taller. Vitali had no trouble landing or our scoring anyone in his entire career and was never floored. He makes his opponents miss him far more than Wlad does because he has the better defensive reflexes of the two. Wlad would not be easy for sure. It would be a good fight if they were not brothers. In the end I don't think Wlad is durable enough to win because he's going to take a lot of shots. Most fans of both, and Universum trainers who worked with both of them think Vital is/was the better of the two. The common opponents shared pretty much tell the tale. Vitali easily beat Peter, Puritty and after 1 round Sanders. The same three men gave Wlad trouble. While Wlad was better vs Byrd, Byrd said Vitali was the better fighter if you can believe. Vitali's injury had a lot to do with the result.
vitali had a good chin, but no one knows if its iron. wlad would be hardest and most accurate puncher vitali ever faced + vlad could reach vitali and get full force behind his punches. vlad is faster and has the murderous left hook to ko vitali clean. Thats just my opinion. more realistic would be that wlad decisions him or gets ko late
Vitali is far more skilled than Wlad. Wlad only knows three punches: Jab, straight right hand and left hook. Vitali throws them all. Vitali has a better defense than Wlad.
But the common opponents comparison isn't fair. Purrity Sanders and Peter I took place before Wladimirs prime. Wlad became a much better fighter post 2007. I can't see any of the men sanders purrity competing with a 2007-2013 Wladimir Klitschko. What about 2008-2014? Vitali fought weak competition like Gomez, Areola, adamek, Briggs, charr, sosnowski, solis, Johnson While Wlad fought the best out there like ibragimov, chagaev, haye, pulev, Povetkin, Fury Wlad is much more proven against a higher level of opposition Vitali never showed the kind of dominance in his prime which Wlad showed from 2006-present Most fans, trainers believe the post Steward improved version of Wlad is better than any version of Vitali
Vitalis problem is he never got any better. Wlad did, Wlad got a lot better and surpassed Vitali. He was a good unorthodox fighter but he nevEr proved he could beat top notch opposition. Vitali never fought povetkin, never fought haye, never fought fury before retiring. He took on Manuel Charr instead. Vitali could not match Wlad in skills. Wlad would have smoked Vitali with his right hand. Vitali kept that left Hand low and is not as intelligent as Wlad. Wlad also has the power to hurt Vitali. He outboxed vitali on the outside and clinches him when they get in close.
Vitali by KO. It would be a very cautious and dull fight. Wlad only lets his shots go when he knows he is truly safe and Vitali often liked his opponents to lead of. It would end up as a stale mate. However, what we shouldn't forget is Wlad's chin. He has barely been hit in the past decade, but, that is down to his style and fighting boxer's who are smaller than him, less skilled and have a rubbish sense of distance. However, when he has been grazed he has reacted badly. Vitali has the height, reach and ring IQ to catch Wlad and he definitely has the power to put him away. Wlad may be able to stay away from Vitali for awhile, but he wouldn't survive 12 rounds with him.
I agree with you that Wlad is more skilled. I think that he also hits harder. But here's the thing - Vitali is better than anybody that Wlad has faced in his unbeaten decade. He also has the reach and style to land consistently enough on Wladimir to make the damage add up. While I don't rate Vitali as a great "one punch" KO artist, his punching is consistently heavy and over a long fight he made a mangled mess of most of the guys that he faced. I very much suspect that a fight between the two would see Wladimir rack up the early rounds and Vitali cleaning up the latter half of the fight through sheer attrition and bloody-mindedness. Vits seems to me the sort of guy who doesn't mind getting beaten to a pulp so long as he can "hurt you more". :!: I honestly don't see Wlad making it through the late rounds; I don't believe that he has the constitution to handle the heavy damage Vitali can dish out over the long haul, whereas big brother I think could stand up to Wlad's punching, especially "cautious Wlad". IMHO Wladimir is one of the few boxers with the sort of firepower to KO Vitali. :bbb I'd actually favour, stylistically, the offensive version of Wlad against Vitali. If I were in his corner I'd tell him to go out there and try blast him out early, because later on his chances will be slim.
