Sounds reasonable to me. Is Arreola a GB fighter?

    Well....not really.

Barclays wanted Wladimir vs Chris Arreola for October 20...and Golden Boy said NO. That's fact.

"This is about really creating an opening night in Brooklyn which will be used to promote season ticket sales for the Brooklyn Boxing programs, and we have come up with big plans there. The facts are that Oct. 20 is not a Klitschko date, it's not a Golden Boy date, it's not a Barlclay date. It's a date for the fight fans of Brooklyn," said Schaefer.

Barclays wanted to do Klitschko vs Arreola on October 20, but Golden Boy is booked. To say "it's not a Golden Boy date" is cute, and I know what he means, but they will not book a bigger fight in Brooklyn than Klitschko vs Arreola would be, so how would that really be for the benefit of fight fans? New York has heavy taxes for fighters. Like it or not, unless that changes, this is not going to be a place for truly marquee fights."

Boente is a ****. Rally starting to despise this Paul O'Grady look-a-like *****. Why not just bite the bullet and do the deal for this fight?

It'll be huge US exposure for Wlad against a fighter he can look great against in a huge new arena. Do they not have enough money? Do they not think there is potential to earn more in the future with an impressive display there?

GBP has had that date for a time now. Makes sense that they dont want to give it up.

Isn't that EXACTLY what I said? That they said no to the date, not no to the fight? And that Schaefer doesn't need to co-promote, as long as it's not on THAT DATE which is already booked by GBP (and will be the first boxing match in the history of the arena)?

Reading comprehension isn't your strong suit, is it?

    No, Goosen-Tutor.

But seriously, more than 7 months out, and K2 can't propose a date and location that isn't already booked?

Also, since GBP has an exclusive deal with that arena, I suspect they'd want to get paid something if another promoter puts on a show there. But if they want to fight in New York, why not MSG? Why pick the arena that's already booked?

You said it had been disproven, but then went on to say how GB said another date was fine.

Okay...but they did in effect then block the date of Oct 20th...so that's a fact, not disproven.

They'll find somewhere else I'm sure...probably not a big deal, but it would have been nice to have this huge event at the brand new arena.

Your original assertion was "Wlad Wants Arreola Fight In Brooklyn - Golden Boy Promotions Blocks It! Golden Boy won't allow it without them being a co-promoter"

That assertion is wrong in two ways:

    1) Golden Boy didn't ask to be a co-promoter
    2) Golden Boy didn't block a Wlad-Arreola fight in Brooklyn

The only thing right about what you said is that Wlad wants to fight Arreola in Brooklyn. And based on everything I've read, he can - just not on October 20.

As per usual sir you bring up fine points here.

Arreola will fight. He will be right in front of Wlad, so he would be a perfect opponent to look good against in NY. :yep
