Joe Goosen has already killed that. Basically Chris is "out of shape" according to Goosen. While it's always possible that Goosen might change his mind, I'd say Arreola isn't an option right now. With Vitali sitting out right now, they may be waiting for Vitali to get old and try to steal a belt that way.

Good post and I agree 100%. This is a possible once in a lifetime chance for Arreola. He really doesnt have anything to lose. He also has a very good punch against a vulnerable champion.

If he makes a good showing he loses nothing. If he wins, he wins everything!!!

Well maybe, but they interviewed Arreola's cornerman aftre the McCline took place and he said that Cristobal was at 285 lbs before he even started training camp. :-( If he's anywhere near that then taking this fight would be his execution so he'd likely pass up on the offer.

Well, if they are the only ones that want Wlad right now then so be it. Everyone knows the benefits and risks of fighting Wlad and you can't force anybody on short notice.

Listen idiot Larry Holmes fought Ken Norton with a torn bicep. There are TONS more examples of this in Boxing history. Don't give me that ****. Haye gets a pinky injury and calls off the fight. When you are offered a shot you take it.

What Wlad and company should do is present the names of the people willing to take the gig and let them pick out who they feel is a "suitable" option. Basically all of the guys are so close together in ability, there's really no reason for Wlad to go nuts.

I mean let HBO pick between Toney, Minto, Kevin Johnson, Odliander Solis and Shannon Briggs.

The biggest fool on ESB calling me an idiot? Wow. That hurts. :nut

Only an idiot believes someone should take a fight he isn't prepared for. THAT isn't even open for discussion by sane people, which is why I'm sure I haven't heard the last from you.:deal

I can guarantee you HBO has already given Team Klitschko a list of who is acceptable and who is not.

If HBO does not approve of the opponent the event will still be held but the American viewing public won't be watching it.

No wonder you have a guy in your avatar that just dropped out of a fight for some BS reason.

This situation is why people dislike and talk bad about the Heavyweight Division they are mostly out of shape slobs.

Arreola has already stated that he was going to stay in the gym and keep training. He also only fought 2 months ago. He has the chance of a LIFETIME presented here on a golden platter. Quit trying to give excuses and apply to much logic. This is it, the chance to win it all!!! make it happen arreola!

this isnt a round of golf they are filling in for. if 2 weeks was enough prep, no one would train for months for a specific fight. i think its up to each team to determine how close their fighter is to fighting form and how much success they can expect in his current state.

i agree that arreola has little to lose besides brain cells.

Just one more point. preparing for a jameel mccline defeintely was a big advantage for Cristobal here. Both are tall good punching h
heavies who rely on the jab, time to make this fight!
