He may still try it when the war in. My feelings sadly are he is a couple of years too late to try it now
If Vlad wants to box he should challenge Jake Paul Win and get richer Not that Paul would even consider it
Atleast that would have made up for some of his brothers cowardice. The sob and his beloved fans cry and scream that Lewis didn't give Vitali a rematch while Vitali himself avoided the potentially interesting Valuev fight and blatantly ducked and upcoming Tyson Fury. And then there is the fact that Vitali deserved no rematch, man got slaughtered vs Lewis and didn't earn any rematch rights that night.
It's an interesting fight. Dubious got stopped by Uysk. Wlad could still KO him with a bomb if he landed first. I do find this a very interesting story as far as Wlad's mythical 'great character' goes. Apparently years ago he was taking up arms to defend Kiev. Then mass conscription went into effect, up to the age of 60, and now he is in talks, as a long retired boxer, to leave the country and play sport? I think we have some Klitschko privilege in effect here.
If klitschko had a few tune-up fights and I could see how he looks then I could evaluate. However based on his age and activity there's no way he should fight him
There have been rumours of Wlad coming back and attempting to become the oldest heavyweight champion in the past. If he'd come back and beat Dubois he'd be older than Foreman was when he lost to Briggs. He'd also be the oldest heavyweight title challenger whatever happened. If he lost by KO1 it wouldn't hurt his legacy much, he'd be seen as courageous just getting in the ring with a prime puncher. I suspect Joshua's loss to Dubois is relevant here. Wlad wasn't too depressed when he lost to Joshua ("I won by losing") because his losing effort was perceived as a strong one, even though he shouldn't have let Joshua off the hook. But when Joshua quit against Ruiz in 7 it didn't look so good. Worse still when Usyk outboxed Joshua twice. And worse again after Dubois knocked Joshua stiff in 5. Aside from redeeming Wlad's legacy directly (with what would be his most impressive win by far and arguably the best heavyweight win ever for his age, as well as a major symbolic victory for the Klitschko era against the post-Klitschko era), beating Dubois would also be a way of "avenging" and "redeeming" Joshua as Joshua's win over 41 Wlad would age well if 48 Wlad beat Dubois. Joshua's prime would also be more cemented with the Wlad fight in 2017 in retrospect, with the significance of his Dubois loss in 2024 lessened. Wlad might have a puncher's chance if he went for it early. Lerena is a mediocre cruiser and scored three 1st round KD's on Dubois and both Joyce and Usyk made him quit late on jabs. Dubois would have to be a huge favourite though.
Who did Klitschko beat during his reign that is remotely close to Dubois? None. People here overrate Povetkin, and Klitschko fouled his way to a "win" over him.
Overrated. Povetkin and Haye would outbox and KO him. Bakole is going to blast his jaw into the stands
It doesn't matter how good prime Wlad was or who he beat back then. The point is that 48 years old will lose to Dubois and many other legit HW contenders, Not 40 years old. 48 years old.
You forgot about Vitali retiring instead of facing Rahman, the same thing Vitali's fanboys and Lewis' haters accuse Lennox of doing.
Bullshot or not, Wlad would get stopped by Dubois today. He could not keep Dubois off him and when a bomb lands,........timberrrrr.
Oh boy, now we’re using DuBois as some kind of measuring stick? I have nothing against DuBois, but he’s gonna have to do more than beat a useless version of AJ and a never done anything Hrgovic for me to consider him something very special…. Anyway, at least we agree that he’d beat out of retirement Klitschko at 50…
