It you can't remember such fighters as chris byrd, david haye, Hasim Rahman etc than you don't know much about boxing. These names will be remembered by boxing fans but not casuals like you. Still smoking the ice?

What are you 2 years old and think everyone who disagrees with you is stupid, stop acting like a child, you don't know anymore than I know how well Wlad would do back then, you have an agenda against him and won't give him the credit he deserves. I on the other hand respect and enjoy the old guys but I'm also realistic and maybe Foreman and Holmes would have been competitive against the giants of today the rest not so much.

There is truth here. Whenever a fighter dominates his era he is often under-appreciated during his reign. Much like Joe Louis and Larry Holmes. However, their legacy(dominant champions)usually ages very well.
Wlad also lacks the "cult of personality" that hurts him with audiences. He lives a quiet life and is generally respectful of opponents. If he was a braggart or expressed his confidence in a verbally aggressive manner before every fight for the last ten years I think more ppl would be on the bandwagon because it attracts followers and haters.
Wlad is a top ten heavy already and with career still left ahead of him he can certaintly find himself with a very lofty position when all is said and done.

Wlad will never be known as the greatest heavyweight of all times because the resumes isn't even close to ali resumes.

Ali Resumes of his best wins: Frazier, Liston, Norton, Foreman, Patterson

Wlad resumes of his best wins:

    Byrd, Haye, Chambers, Thompson, Povetkin

^^^Come on man lol And plus Wlad lost to two fighters in his prime by kos in freaking Sanders and Brewster for crying out loud lol.

You said people won't remember them, I said nothing about them being heavyweight greats. But true boxing fans will remember them, casuals like yourself will not.

I dont understand how anyone can claim this era as one of the weakest in boxing. We finally got a whole world producing amazing pro fighters. Before 1990 you were lacking the entire soviet block.

So how can you claim its a weak era when we finally got everyone aboard? We should call everything before 1990 a weak era since half of the worlds best fighters was not allowed to compete.

Only in US is this a weak era. And the reason is US simple cant compete with all those former soviet countries that has produced great fighters for 100 years. There is no doubt in my mind if the soviet union had collapsed in the 1950 boxing history would be completely rewritten.

One of my favourite old time fighters are László Papp. 3 time Olympic gold medallist, tried to go pro in communist Hungary in secret but was stopped. was undefeated in 27 professional bouts. one of his last fights was against Tiger Jones who had beat Sugar Ray Robinson and he completely dominated him. What do you think would have happen to boxing if this monster had been allowed to compete??? There is countless other multiple OL gold medallist champions in the 50,60,70,80 and early 90 who was never allowed to compete.

No this is not a weak era the last 2 decades might be the strongest era ever in professional boxing.

He has a legit case for top 3 HW of all time.

I don't care about his early losses anymore than I care about Pac's or Bernard's early losses.

I hope Tyson Fury and Wilder do something extraordinary and get rated very high, so when Klitschko knocks them out, like he is bound to, people will give him proper credit.
