    not many people were undefeated long back then, they fought sometimes 20 times a year. so marking someones legacy by the fact they were undefeated doesnt mean beans, it looks nice but means nothing

    Wlad has defeated 23 opponents with either 0 or 1 loss, there is no way to quantify how good one generation is from the other, who's to say Wach couldn't have knocked Frazier out cold, how do we know, Byrd or Peter were 2 of the greats but they got their ass beat by Wlad before they had a chance.

    Because he fought in the 30's and 40's and everybody from that era with a relatively decent record is a Hall of Famer, Ali would have beaten everyone of them including Louis and Marciano. I've watch the newsreel footage a lot of the greats they wouldn't stand a chance against the HW's of the 60's and 70's and even the present. Like Tyson said people don't want to admit it but athletes get better, from era to era.

    Of the guys that Louis beat that are in the HOF...
    Schmeling, Sharkey, Conn, Walcott, Baer, Braddock, JH Lewis, Bivins

    None of them would be contenders in the HW division now.
    In between he was also defending his title against many horrid sub cruiser bums like Tony Musto(37-30).

    His average opponent had 10 losses. His best opponents had 7 and 11 losses when he fought them.

    Maybe that dude meant to say "If Wlads oponents were fighting back in the Joe Louis days, how many of them would be hall of famers?" Imagine the 6'2, 230 lb Sam Peter teeing off on James Braddock. :patsch
