Joshua is too green. Only because Wlad lost to Fury, now everyone thinks Joshua will beat Klitschko. Joshua isn't Fury, they have completely different styles. Joshua is too stiff and as soon as he tries to get inside Wlads range, boom Wlad throws left hooks and Joshua is down. Wlad by brutal KO inside rounds 4-6. Same what he did to Pulev.
True Joshua isn't Fury, very different fighters, but Joshua isn't Pulev either. Joshua's guard is tighter, he isn't as open for that left hook like Pulev is and leaping in against such a flat footed fighter like Pulev has minimal risk as he can't get out of the way to make room to counter an on coming opponent. Joshua isn't exactly fleet of foot but he's Ali compared to Pulev in terms of agility. Just jumping in against Joshua is dangerous as he's always looking to counter, usually with the right hand like in the Martin fight. But I will admit the way Joshua drops that right when he loads up with it like in the Whyte fight will leave him open for that left hook which has more than enough power to hurt and even KO Joshua. But Wlad isn't much of a counter puncher, he doesn't trade, when under attack he's in full defensive mode, looking to move away of clinch to stifle an attack, he isn't looking to counter so I doubt we'll see a scenario like Whyte with Joshua coming in to finish him and Wlad looking to counter him on the way in. I can see the scenario where Wlad's left hook could end the fight but I don't think it's a likely scenario for the reasons stated above. But Wlad had been champion for so long for a reason and surprised me when he adapted against Pulev, maybe the old champion has a few more tricks left.
I really think it's a tough call, but I give the edge to Wlad due to his ability in left and right hands both. 65:35 for Wlad IMO. Of course, both men's chins aren't the best so I would be surprised if this goes the distance. AJ will know he can't last over the longer term, he has to go for a quick kill if he wants to win. I feel if Wlad survives the first 3-4 rounds he will adjust to AJ and take him out between 5-10.
i bet heavily on lewis-holyfield 1. i was at a party, bet damned near everyone there. people started paying me after the fourth round. lewis pitched a shutout. after the cards were read, i had to return everyone's money. nothing on earth could ever get me to bet on a boxing match again.
Wladimirs last two fights, Jennings and Fury, did you watch them? I'm not writing Wladimir off, he is vastly experienced and has pedigree but he is 40 years old and has started to look a little average. Yes it might just be a little dip and these Fury postponements might have done Wladimir a huge favour and given him time to reenergise and sort some issues out but Joshua is unbeaten, young, fresh, athletic and can punch, I don't think this is an "easy" fight for either of them.
I believed Wlad wins as well, but just have seen parts of the Fury fight again. He looked so painfully slow and gun shy. Joshua is a stiff with no head movement but is probably faster as well. Still favouring Klitschko due to his experience but if he turns his back to Joshua as he did against Fury he will be knocked out badly.
I'm looking more to Wlad. But it's just because he's proven what he can do against high ranking opponents. I wouldn't call it an upset if Joshua wins tho, because I've seen what he can do against low-mid tier opponents. I'm half rooting for Wlad because I like him as a person. But I also semi want Joshua to win because it will do a lot for him and possibly draw more viewers to the HW scene
joshua has too much power and speed to let klitschko take liberties with the hold and hit,,decent ref "and the new wbo wba champion of the world" wlad will not stand and trade with aj "fact" he'd get blown away,,great champ but he's not wlad from a few years ago
kid, AJ doesn't have to get inside anything . Wladimir if he has his reach is miniscule . AJ will fight from the outside and there will be the most vicious shots Wladimir has EVER seen. any glancing powers hot from AJ is the end of Wladimir. klit, doesn't even have a pitchers chance. he'll freeze like a deer caught in headlights. AJ will box him setting up the kill , after a could rounds (possibly even couple minuted) he'll know even thing and will go for the kill I like Wladimir, very much a great man in this world. I think his team knows it's over, so they're taking the biggest payday and cashing out. sorry , gunshy, no chin, too slow with everything ,. yes, even the "quick" left hook is only quick because he's so slow with every else... no punchers chance, no chin or boxing skills to wear AJ put, AJ could go 12 brutal rounds, zero chance Wladimir could get 3 brutal rounds with AJ . anybody picking wlad, are picking strictly off career accomplishments . best win was Sam ****ing peter, and he got beat up in that. AJ will flatten him and flatten him in cartoonish views . bad, terrible, unwinnable and simply cash out for Wladimir and his wife. anyone who thinks different, please make a believable case, there is non except Wladimir "WAS" dominate for so long . yes, thats so far back, pulev made Wladimir look 10 years younger, but that was a one off, meaning they got the guy at the perfect time . no idea how to box , just a big oaf that stood directly in Wladimir range ALL night. AJ will box Wladimir like a heavy bag and a speed bag. Wladimir CANNOT take a few rounds of AJ . this is absolutely borderline mental Institute talk. some of your ambigious BSC proves how you know NOTHING . cst80, serious , you're going to pick Wladimir ? the trend, just keep picking against AJ and eventually you could be right.. DW is the ONLY fighter that can go in thinking he's going to order at least could win. ONLY dwelling, the rest are lambs simply waiting for the slaughter
I am not a Wlad or AJ fan but I really fear for Wlad if this fight gets made. I think he could get badly, badly hurt. That said, I do not think this fight is as cut and dried to happen. Surely if all Wlad wants is a belt he is better going the WBO route v Parker, still a test but a much higher chance of a favourable outcome than against AJ. Not as if he needs the money really.
Just a reminder, Joshua's best win is an out of shape kickboxer who had him on bambi on ice legs with one clip.
