Undeservedly so if you ask me. Wasn't even close to the KO of the year and it wasn't even the best HW KO of the year. http://espn.go.com/boxing/story/_/id/12080109/wladimir-klitschko-scores-ko-year
Povetkin KTFO Carlos Takam was much more violent.Takam was out before he hit the ground. How the hell was Klitschko Pulev worse? [yt]HOkX0aChDTQ[/yt]
It was the KO of the year in the K2 family household. Nothing to do with KO of the year outside that, facing such a poor opponent as Pulev who basically was asking to be punched in the face.
It was a top 20 KO for sure, but in no way the KOTY. I guess it has a lot to do with rebuilding Wlad's name in the US now he's going to slap around a couple of US heavyweights on HBO. That, and I'm really believing my own US passport thing.
It was a damn good KO but KO of the year? Nobody really gave Pulev a chance, KOing an opponent everyone expects to lose is KO of the year? I think both of Povetin's KO's were better. I especially enjoyed his wrecking of Charr. Froch's KO of Groves was also pretty special. Huge fight, very competitive as well and the KO was a beautiful one punch KO that came out of nowhere.
