I believe I stated that if the Marciano who showed up to fight Cockell showed up to fight Chag he would get his assed kicked all over the ring.

I've watched 8 or 9 Chag fights. Tonight was not a good testament to his true skills. Then again, very few look good against Wlad. In fact, very few have even won a round against him.He is absolutely dominant.

That was an exceptional performance. What he is good at, he is so good at. I wonder if he can get to retirement without losing again?

They converted southpaw heavyweights back in the day. Let me ask you who was a solid Southpaw heavyweight ....I think the first who was not a great one was Karl Mildenburger, then Chris Byrd...Corrie Sanders...Ruslin....Sultan...Thompson...who else....I think this last era has the better southpaws at Heavy.....Ruslin is a solid fighter but was in with a different level of fighter...that was an easy win.....Ruslin would not be champ of era's before but he may make the top 10 because none of the era's were rock solid from 1 to 10

Honestly Wlad might have the best technique for a superheavyweight I have ever seen. His skills are at/near the level of lewis and bowe. who the hell out there is going to outbox wlad? NO ONE....thats why the only matchup for Wlad is Haye...a slugger who has a punchers chance

He demonstrated almost no infighting skills tonight, which Bowe and Lewis both had. Wlad's skills on the inside amount to grabbing and waiting. Got to say though, on the outside, he's astonishing.

Who, in HW history, do you think quite clearly has a better jab than Wlad?

Well I just dont think someone has challenged him on the inside yet in a while. Wlad back in the late 1990s was a death eater on the inside and he used a devastating left hook and devastating 3-5 punch combinations to finish off his foes.....He still has these tools in tank its just hes so dominant on the outside that no one challenges him enough to use his backup plan. I gaurantee you haye with his power and pressure will make wlad let BOTH hands loose and show us just how devastating he is. About clinching, this is an art. Marciano was very good at it, so is Wlad. Its a skillset on the inside.

Wlad used to remind of joe louis in the 1990s...I hope he starts opening up again because his technique right now and skills are unbelievable. He just nees to get killer instinct back. If he puts his old combinations back with his new style, he will be unbeatable h2h.

Wlad is now probably the number one Heavyweight in the world, although personally I think big brother will always have the edge over him if they (which rightly, they will not) fought.

But Wlad still looks far to skittish and horrified that he might get hit. He clearly does not trust his chin, and it would be interesting if a ref started calling him for measuring his opponent with his left hand, by touching his opponents gloves, which is illegal.

But on the form he showed against Chagaev, I see no one who he can fight at the moment being better than a 5/1 shot.

But why? Wlad is so much better than Vitali in every department. As long as Wlad doesnt have a panic attack, wlad will dominate him....especially a 38 year old past his prime Vitali

Mentally, a little brother putting a performance together to beat his bigger, older sibling is going to take an awful lot of doing, and Wlad has shown little evidence that he has that sort of mental ability in him.

It was one Wlad's best performances. No one has come close to dominating Chagaev. Wlad breezed right through him, and won every 1 minute segment of every round.

    Impressive.

Well...I have seen quite a few of them, and Wladimir Klitschko is not the worst heavyweight champion I've seen. At least we have a champ now. I just hope most recognize him. Boxing always seems better off to me when most of us can point at one guy and say "There's the heavyweight champ!" :good

David Haye can get the job done. I am worried about his chin issues though.

Honestly, that is very far fetched.

Wlad is about as good as it gets. If you don't like him, you should find another sport to follow.
