Wlad is more than just hieght, if that was the case the heavywieght division would be all half assed basketball players. Look at the champs we have right now Iggy who is in the books at 6'2 but is really closer to 6'0, you have Chagaev at 6'1 and Peter at 6 foot and a half. The only big champ is Wlad at 6'6, who is a skilled fighter for his size.

Wlad is solid in every department of his game now, besides maybe a leaky defense and weak chin, every fighter has a weakness or two.

Then we can scrap the whole board. The whole point of the board is to discuss what ifs.

Is his height his best weapon?

Not really, there are plenty of tall guys, Valuev, McCline, Austin, Long, yet none of them are even close to succeeding what Wlad has. Pretty stupid question really.

Wlad has by far the fastest hands in the division, most power argubly and by far the best delivery.

There's no need to discuss what is. We already know it.

Maybe so but not when the original thoughts and motives for this thread are utterly STUPID.

Here's the question at the heart of it:

If Klitschko were say 6' to 6'2 would he be in the top 10 heavyweights? He would obviously not be as good as he is at his real height. I'm inclined to say he'd still be one of the top guys in the division.

Would his hieght and reach be the same? If you answered yes, I couldnt understand why he wouldnt still be the best in the division. Now I think if you said Valuev you might have a better arguement IMO, because I think his hieght is probably his best weapon.

Take away any fighters biggest asset and they wont be the fighter that you know them as.

    But to me it's irrelevant.

I dont know, i'd say he is a master at the fundamentals of the game.. Jab, Cross, Left Hook, basic defense, and his footwork is god for his size.

But of course, his size does help him.

Wlad started using a nice uppercut against Brewster & it worked well. Maybe this is something they've been working on? The funny thing is Wlad used to use the uppercut more in his early days but seemd to abandon it later in his career. Maybe the thinking was if you have a Porche of a right hand why drive a Kia of an uppercut?

    Good point.

    What about his Right Hand?

    What about his Jab?

    What about his Left Hook?

What about his Hooking off the Jab?

What about his work ethic? The guy is never out of shape or hanging out in bars, etc. That alone can go a long way toward making a fighter.

But yes, in the end, size does play an important role although not more than all the others.

That's it, the best post on topic right there.

I Think he'd be the champion even if he was only 6'2" because of those reasons right there.
