Lewis has shown very little in his career that would indicate that he would end Wlad in under 4 rounds. Lewis was notoriously a slow starter and Wlad is too good defensively now to allow himself to get bum-rushed, caught cold or wide open for counter on a wide punch. If the fight ends by KO it will end in the late rounds, but under 4 is ridiculous, stupid and nieve.
You do realize that Maskaev turned down a fight against Wlad, don't you? Do you also realize that when Maskaev was ready to fight Wlad, the WBC denied Maskaev the opportunity for a unification fight, due to the fact that Maskaev had wasted his open defense against Peter Okhello. Since then, and directly before then... then WBC has been completely wrapped up in mandatory defense after mandatory defense. They have had mandatories on back in order for that worthless title for the last 2 years. You can't blame Wlad for that. Actually... if Wlad is able to land a fight againt Chagaev, he would become ring champ, because if you are ranked #1 as Wlad is... and beat the #3 ranked guy, then you become ring champ. It's nonsense anyways, because Wlad beat Peter, and should have been ranked in the top 3 by ring mag when he beat Byrd, who was ranked #1 by ring mag... and Wlad should have become champ at that moment. The Ring simply dropped the ball, and then elevated Sam Peter to #2 in ring mag not long after... so Wlad, had already beat the previous number 1, and had also just beat the guy that the planted at #2. It's nonsense... and the only thing that really matters is what the public thinks. Wlad is clearly the True Champion.
It's proof that everyone knows how great he really is. If people actually thought that he sucked, they wouldn't spend so much time talking about him.:good
I understand your point, but to become champ he has to beat the winner of Vitali vs Haye. Same for those guys.
It could go either way, but the most likely outcome is Lewis by mid-to-late stoppage. If it goes the distance, Lewis bya a clear UD.
I can see this panning out in a few different ways. The most likely IMO, Wlad on Points. Both tend to be safety first fighters, Lewis slightly more aggressive) Unless the see there opponent can be take out early( ie: Wlad VS Ray Austin, Or Lewis VS Golota) I think Lewis would be content to be drawn into a jab war with Wlad. In my opinion, Wlad has a much stiffer and all around better jab. Thus, Wlad racks up the points, round after round(a KO isnt very likely because he tastes Lewis's power) The second option, which is a little less likely to happen, is aLewis TKO in the later rounds. After taking a beating from Klitschko LL moves to the inside. WLad attempts to clinch, and eats a monster uppercut. LL senses hes hurt and goes in for the kill. Wlad gets up. LL floors him again, then the ref wont let him continue. LL TKO round 7-12
It's funny when people talk about Lewis's "reign" and then have the nerve to criticise it. Here is Wladimir's reign:
It's often said that Lennox fought and beat everyone, but... Wlad was no1 ring contender for 2 years of Lennox's reign.
