When Lewis was 32 years old... how do you think a poll would have went in a thread about Lewis vs Prime Holmes? Also, please show me how Lewis' resume at 32 was greater than Wlad's at 32.
Well he'd only lost once for a start - to a World class operator, and he avenged that loss brutally. Now tell me how WALDOS resume at 32 is in any way comparable to Lewis's at 32. Please leave out WBO bull**** by the way, that's a belt Lewis never even bothered to fight for.
By the age of 32, Wlad has been TKO'd by 3 journymen, has been floored 11 times, has yet to fight an A class fighter, and many still consider his brother ther better fighter, even after taken a near 4 year leave from the sport. Wlad has alot going for him physically, and actually is comparable to Lewis in that aspect, but mentally he's about as fragile as the american economy. The guy cant fight well when his oppenent gets rough with him, he finds himself floored several times, numerous panic attacks, and you better believe clinches will be initiated, no wonder why people dont watch Heavyweight boxing anymore.
There is good reason why Lewis stayed away from the WBO belt. After Lewis got his other belts in 1999... Wlad had gained the WBO belt in 2000. He was Lewis' #1 contender by Ring mag for over 2 years. That is a good reason why Lewis didn't go after the WBO... Wlad was holding it. It is a recognized title, just like the WBC, the WBA, or the IBF... to be honest... they have been just as good if not BETTER with their ranking systems than the others. The WBO seems to really have their **** together. Lewis not fighting for that title doesn't mean a damn thing. Yes, Lewis had only lost once... but he had also fought 20 less times too. You really can't answer the question about Lewis' resume being better at 32, because you know damn well that it wasn't.:good You can avoid the question... but you can't avoid the truth.
Lewis was heavyweight champion as early as 1992, and he didn't bother with the WBO belt back then either, I think it might have been the illustrious Francisco Damiani back then that held that strap :rofl:rofl:rofl He ignored that belt for 8 years, WALDO won it and all of a sudden Lewis was avoiding the WBO champ? Get the **** out of here, it's the weakest belt, always has been and always will be. Incidentally this WBO that are 'better' with their rankings once moved a 168 fighter UP in the rankings after he'd died. Care to explain that? As for Lewis having less bouts than WALDO well yes that much is true but so what? He beat quality opposition from around the 10 fight mark in his career, WALDO fought bums up until at least his 30th opponent and even now he's had 50+ fights and anyone that knows what they're talking about will tell you their resumes are MILES apart. Quality over quantity and all that.
I don't think that too many level headed people would say that Lewis' resume at 32 years old was miles ahead of Wlad's.
The WBA just ranks senior citizens... he's right, it was the WBO. However, he wasn't dead, he was playing possum.
Please elaborate on the 'level headed' thing please, I've got to hear this. 12% last time I checked. OWNED.
:huh I think that you are in so many different arguments, that you forget which discussion you are in. I didn't see a poll vote about whether Lennox Lewis' resume was miles ahead of Wlad's at the age of 32. Did you?
Once again, tell me WHY do you think that Lewis resume is miles ahead of Wlad's one? - Tyson? He was totally SHOT and 15 pounds overweight. Period. Danny Williams KO'ed the same Tyson in 4 rounds, so does this mean that Williams has better resume than Wlad? - Grant? McCline, who was beaten easily by Wlad, needed just 43 seconds to KO Grant. - Briggs? The same Briggs who lost 9 of 10 rounds on all 3 cards and was knocked down against Jameel McCline? - Tua? The same Tua, who was outboxed easily by Chris Byrd, despite being in much better shape than in Lewis fight? - Golota? The same Golota, who was KTFOed in 52 seconds by Lamon Brewster? - Was Akinwande better than Sultan Ibragimov? Were chinny Tommy Morrison or Gary Mason, who barely beat Everett Martin and Mark Willls, better than Peter? Was old cocaine-user Tony Tucker (who was stopped by Bruce Seldon soon after Lewis fight) better than Tony Thompson? Ok, ok! May be Zelko Mavrovic, whose best win was all-time great Julius Francis, was better than Calvin Brock, who beat McCline and few good jorneymen (Ettienne, Bostice, Smith, Timor Ibragimov, Lawrence)? The Answer is: NO Don't get me wrong. Lewis is great fighter. He is #7 in my ATG HW list. His resume is much better than Wlad's one, but only because of 3-4 fights: 2 Holyfield fights (Holy was past his prime, but still good), Vitaly fight and Razor Ruddock fight. Too bad, HW division is almost empty nowdays, so it would be very unlikely for Wlad to surpass Lewis' resume. I have to agree when somebody says that Lewis resume is much better, but miles ahead? Well, if you think so, than you should agree that Ali's resume is 1000 000 light years ahead of Lewis' one!
