When Wlad becomes the undisputed heavyweight champion of the world, and has no unavenged loses on his record, come back, and then we will compare the two fighters. Otherwise, Wlad is not even in the same league as Lennox Lewis.

You can make such a rundown with Ali's opponents, too until only 2-3 stay.

What is this stuff with the "unavenged losses"? You know exactly that there is a lot of politics involved and BOTH fighters must be available and active.

Besides who believes that Wlad would gass in "Wlad vs Purritty II"? Who wants to see this fight? Corrie Sanders would have maybe gotten a shot if he hadn't lost to Machimana. And Brewster got his "avenging".

The fact is Wlad has two unavenged KO loses on his record. When it comes to legacy time this fact will be quite damaging, when we compare Wlad to Lennox, at least.

At the moment, there is no comparison to be made. Wlad needs to go on winning for a few more years and try and become undisputed, then we can start making comparisons, otherwise, there is no real point.

Joe Louis had 2 unavenged loses, Mohamed Ali had 2 unavenged loses as well, Ray Robinson had 15 unavenged loses, Henry Armstron - 14 unevenged loses. Does it mean that each of them isn't in Lewis league? Most people would say "Yes, but they are league above Lewis"!
Rocky Marciano and Ricardo Lopez never lost in the ring. Does it mean that they are 2 best P4P fighters of all-time, 10 leagues above Robinson or Armstrong, who lost 19 and 21 fight respectively? NO!

Once again, I don't say that Wlad's resume is as good as Lewis' one. Lewis' resume is definitely better. But Wlad's resume is very good. And those who try to make Wlad resume look like J.D. Chapman's one, make themselves look like fools.

Foreman didn't avenge any of his 4 losses. Tyson didn't any of his 6.

Only in the most seldom cases you can avenge your losses.

Give me a list of your top 15 heavyweights. I will show you that all besides maybe 2 of them have unavenged losses on their records. That's overrated.

The WBO HW belt never meant diddly squat. It was a paper title, completely worthless. No other way to spin it.

And Lewis had far bigger fish to fry when Wlad held that title. Lucky for him they never fought either, Wlad would've got annihilated.

Less than a handful of HW champions have beat everyfighter they faced:

    1) Gene Tunney
    2) Rocky Marciano
    3) Riddick Bowe
    4) Lennox Lewis

You could make a case about each one of these guys losing a fight.

    1) Gene Tunney-Has NC's on his resume and never rematched
    2) Rocky Marciano-Rumors he fought under a different name.
    3) Riddick Bowe-Blatantly avoided Lennox Lewis
    4) Lennox Lewis-Some people have Mercer and Holy II winning. Avoided Rematch with Vitali Klitschko after stating he would Rematch him

It's considered a major belt. Some of the finest fighters in the world hold the belt. Even when Lennox was fighting.

Wlad was the top contender for 2 straight years.

I like Wlad, a lot, and am not the biggest Lennox Lewis fan around.

That said, I have to take
    This content is protected
here. It's just not a great matchup for Wlad, IMO.

I'm not saying Wlad would get blown out or anything. I just think that at some point Lewis would go into Grant/Golota/Ruddock 'destroy' mode and that is when things would likely become very problematic for Wlad. On the other hand, if Wlad could keep his cool in such circumstances or even land a wild left hook or right hand, Lewis and his chin could have their own dilemma.

Still, gotta take Lewis. Big, fast, strong and aggressive. And long, so he could box with Wlad when he wanted to and time his rushes as he chose.
