Vitali was ready to knock Lewis out, but Lewis promoter signal signaled Lewis' doctor to signal Lewis' referee to stop the fight to save Lewis. Max Kellermann was sitting right behind Lewis' corner and said Lewis was done for. Lewis had to hold on to Vitali to keep from going down. Look at Lewis' nose on TV next time he is on, Vitali broke his nose badly. Angelo Dundee said that Vitali was cheated out of the title that night. Anyone who knows Vitali knows that Vitali does not run out of gas. He can go 12 rounds without any problem. Lewis could not. Vitali staggered Lewis more than once. Lewis turned down millions to fight Vitali again. Lewis retired rather than fight him. Vitali has been trying to get Lewis back into the fight for years now, even during his lay-off.

I honestly think his brother did as well as either of them would ever do against any version of Lennox Lewis.:good

Nonsense, Vitaly was very tired. He was the better of the two in the first 3 rounds, but the longer the fight went the more Vitaly missed with his punches, whereas Lennox was landing bombs. That´s definately not a sign of Vitaly being less tired than Lennox.

As for Wladimir vs. Lennox. As good as Wlad of today is, he would´nt dominate Lennox with his jab the same way he is doing with the actual division. Lennox is the same size, has himself a great jab and unlike Wlad is able to make it a fight. Off course there´s chance for Wlad to land a Rahman or McCall, but 8 out of 10 fights Lewis will win.

Freddy, since when did Wlad make people miss? He's there for the taking, the only reason most guys don't land is because they can't get past his jab. Lennox doesn't have a size disadvantage and can land from wherever Wlad can reach him.

Vitali took some bombs from Lennox, and he's got one hell of a chin. If Wlad took even one of them, it would be LIGHTS OUT BABY.

They are almost mirror images of each other. However, I feel Lewis has a few more tools to his trade. I could picture him ending it in the 8th with a perfect uppercut as Wlad goes in for teh clinch.

Thats a bold statement. I just watched Lewis-Tyson, man, Lewis looks so fluid and relaxed in there, its ridiculous. For such a big guy, he was very fluid with his movement. Plus he punched a hellava lot too. Not just jabs but uppercuts, rights. That was a nice performance by Lewis.

While I'm not overwealmed over Lennox Lewis as an all time great, he certainly would have flattened Wlad. Wlad would have had some early success, but Lewis was good enough to ride out the storm, and would have eventually gotten to Wlad in the late rounds, without a doubt.
Don't make the mistake of thinking Wlad is as good as his dismal contenders make him look. He has nothing close to a prime Mercer or Holyfield to deal with as Lewis did.

Lewis was holding Tyson like an octopus. Perfectly executed strategy.
