    I think anyone would have problems with Peter and Brewster when they were both in their peak. Thompson, I don't know...but he's definitely not made of glass.

    old or not, the job he did on mercer was damn impressive and i think that shows that his power can compete with most in history. not better, but in the same league as some of the big dogs

    He's a really big guy that squares up straight before he releases a punch, I think he could generate even more power if he would use his hips more when he transfers his weight....

    I think early-mid career he ranked in the top 10 of all time for hitting power. Since then he's become a little more cautious and doens't release his power like he used too as often. Steward changed that. I remember an interview where Steward said to the effect that Wlad was so powerfull of a boxer that he didn't need to commit completely to a punch in order to KO boxers and that by not totally commiting he could limit how much he was open for counters. If you look at the power he was releasing vs Jefferson, Mercer, Barrett, and Shufford, it made you stand back and go "whoh... that sure look like it hurt"
